Hotel Deliveries:
- Avis will deliver cars to hotels
within a 10km distance of an Avis
location between the hours of
9:30am-4:30pm Monday to Friday. All
deliveries are on request and are
subject to the availability of staff.
Deliveries are not possible if the
renter is paying the deposit in cash.

Rental Period (Please update wording to
read as per below).
- Rates are calculated on 24 hour
periods. 
- A grace period of 59 minutes applies
and thereafter a full days rental will
be charged. This is payable direct to
Avis by the renter at the time of
rental.

Locations:
Metropolitan - Burnie, Devonport,
Hobart, Launceston.

Kilometre Allowance:
Metropolitan and Country Locations	All
Vehicles - Rates include unlimited
kilometres.
Remote Locations			All Vehicles - Rates
include 100kms per day, excess kilometre
charges at 27.5c per kilometre.

Insurance Cover and Excess Levels:
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)-
- LDW is the insurance coverage
(included in the rate) provided on the
rental vehicle and Third Party Property
which is subject to the excess. LDW is
also subject to terms and conditions
detailed on the rental agreement.

Standard Accident Excess- when an Avis
vehicle is involved in an accident-
- An excess is applicable providing the
vehicle is used in accordance with the
Terms and Conditions of the rental
agreement and the lows of the state.
Failure to adhere to the Terms and
Conditions and laws of the state will
result in the renter being responsible
for all damage and costs associated with
the vehicle.

Excess Reduction Insurance can be
purchased at selected Avis locations for
all car groups as follows:

Applicable Vehicles - All Car / Leisure
Groups, except W.
Excess 	- AUD1,950.00.
Excess Reduction (ER) - AUD19.80 per day
reduces excess to AUD330.00.

Applicable Vehicles - Group W.
Excess 	- AUD5,500.
Excess Reduction (ER)- AUD33.00 per day
reduces excess to AUD1,100.00.

Vehicles and Fleet Availability:
- Vehicle types given are for
descriptive purposes only and may vary
by location.
- Reservations are confirmed by vehicle
group and not by specific make/model. 
- Not all Vehicle Groups are available
at all locations.
- Group X is only available from State
Capital Cities and Airport locations.

Age Requirements:
- 21 years of age: Group X, A, B, C and
D vehicles.
- 25 years of age: Group E, F, V, K, W
vehicles.
- A surcharge for renters 21-24 years of
AUD27.50 per day will apply (to a
maximum of AUD192.50), which is paid
directly to Avis at the time of rental.

Drivers Licence Requirements:
- Avis Australia will rent to drivers
that present a current drivers licence
and have held that licence for 12
months.
- A Foreign licence must be in English
or accompanied by an English translation
and an international Drivers Permit.
- Avis Australia will not rent to any
person on a Provisional or Probationary
drivers licence.
Additional Drivers:
- Avis do not charge for additional
drivers.
- It is essential that proof of a valid
dirvers licence is provided and the
additional driver signs the rental
agreement.

Vehicle Registration Fee:
- The vehicle registration fee (VRF) is
applicable to all Australian Rentals and
is payable directly to Avis at the time
of rental. 
- Vehicle registration fees are subject
to change without notice.

One-Way Rental Policy: 
Tasmania
- One-way rentals within Tasmania do not
incur a One-way fee.
- One-way rentals into or out of
Tasmania are not permitted.

Restricted Driving Roads/Areas:
- The below detailed driving
restrictions apply to all rentals.
- Should the Avis vehicle be driven over
the restricted roads/areas detailed
below, or on the Rental Agreement, Avis
insurance will be void. 
- Avis vehicles cannot be taken onto any
boat or ferry. 
- Vehicle hire is subject to
satisfactory road and weather conditions
at all times.

General:
- The vehicle must only be used on roads
that are properly formed and constructed
as sealed, metalled or gravel roads. 
- All vehicles, including Group K and W,
cannot be driven on beaches or through
streams, dams, rivers or floodwaters.
- Vehicles rented from Mainland
Australia may not leave the Mainland and
be taken to Tasmania or any other
island.
- There are a number of roads in the
Northern Territory and Western Australia
that access roads to Aboriginal
communities, driving is not permitted in
these areas with an approved permit.

Tasmania
- Vehicles must not be driven above the
snow line in Tasmania.
- Vehicles rented in Tasmania must not
be taken to the Mainland and vice versa.
- Vehicles must not be taken to Bruny
Island.

Baby Seats:
- Child Seats/Booster Seats are
available on request at most Avis
Locations. Charges are payable direct to
Avis at the time of rental. Charges are
subject to change without notice.
- Charges: (price includes
administration fee and GST): Daily
AUD7.70 per day / Weekly AUD38.50 per
week / Maximum charge AUD77.00 per
rental. 
The laws for using child restraints and
booster seats in New South Wales,
Queensland and Victoria: 
- Children aged under six months must
wear an approved, properly fastened and
adjusted, rear facing child restraint.
- Children aged between six months and
under four years must wear an approved,
properly fastened and adjusted, rear
facing child restraint OR a forward
facing child restraint with an in-built
harness.
- Children aged between four years and
under seven must wear an approved,
properly fastened and adjusted, forward
facing child restraint with an in-built
harness OR an approved booster seat
which is properly positioned and
fastened.
- For all other states and territories,
only children up to the age of three
years are required to be in a child
seat.

Portable GPS:
- Portable GPS units are available on
request from select locations.
- A rate of AUD10.95 per day / AUD50.55
per week / Maximum charge of AUD61.95
applies and is payable direct to Avis at
the time of rental.
- The standard accidental Loss Damage
Waiver and Excess Reduction do not cover
loss of, or damage to the GPS Unit. A
separate charge will apply.
- One way rentals for GPS units are on a
request basis only and a one way charge
may apply.

Frequent Flyer Points:
- Frequent flyer points do not apply for
these rates.

General:
- Should the current Tax Legislation,
State or Federal, be revised, or Avis'
operating costs increase due to the
introduction of any tax revisions, Avis
reserves the right to amend all charges
without notice.

Pre-Payment of Miscellaneous Charges
(including excess):
- All rentals are subject to a deposit
at the time of vehicle collection to
cover miscellaneous/optional charges,
the applicable insurance excess and a
AUD100.00 fuel bond. Deposit can be made
by credit card or cash.
- Cash deposits are only accepted for
Group X, A, B, C, D & E vehicles. Any
other vehicle groups require a credit
card for payment. - Drivers under 25
years, leaving a cash deposit can only
rent up to the group D vehicle.
- Credit Card: The amount of the deposit
is not debited to the card at rental
collection; an authority only is taken
until the conclusion of the rental when
the applicable charges will be debited.
- Cash: When the deposit is paid in cash
any applicable refund will be made by
Avis Australia company cheque.

Tolls:
- A number of motorways and city link
roads in Sydney and Melbourne are
electronic tolls only and do not have
toll booths.
- For advice, please see an Avis Rental
Sales Agent on collection of the
vehicle.

Fuel:
- Avis rental vehicles are supplied with
a full tank of fuel. Any refuelling
costs are at the renter's expense.
- If the renter returns the vehicle with
less than a full tank, refuelling costs
are payable directly to Avis by cash or
credit card.
