The Gold Trail Experience museum in historic Murrumburrah takes you through the rich gold history of the local area via interactive touchscreens - with interactive multimedia.

Learn about the area's colourful past with bushrangers, troopers, Chinese and European miners, and all the characters that shaped this great land. A wonderful, informative experience for the whole family.

The museum is located next to Barnes Store Emporium and cafe, serving great coffee and scrumptious fresh homemade food.

Coddington Park and Roberts Park


Coddington Park is located on the Burley Griffin Way in Murrumburrah. The Murrimboola Creek runs alongside the park. Coddington Park and Roberts Park sporting fields adjoin which makes Coddington Park a busy hub during sporting competitions. Light Horse Memorial


The Light Horse Memorial commemorates the birthplace of the First Australian Light Horse at Murrumburrah in 1897.

Bronze sculptures of Corporal William Bradford of the First Australian Light Horse, the 'Retreat at Romani' with horse, 'Bill the Bastard' carrying five men, and a diorama of Beersheba by Murrumburrah sculptor Carl Valerius, granite blocks, nearby is a wall of remembrance and a number of commemorative plaques are set in a garden near Murrimboola Creek.

On August 30 1897, the very first call up muster and enrolments to the First Australian Horse took place at Harden-Murrumburrah. Advertisements were placed in local papers inviting men to join in and they were promised comradeship, sport and good fun. Of the 80 who arrived on the day, 60 local men were picked to join as volunteers. They had prove themselves as competent riders and had to provide their own horses.

Wombat Heights Orchard and Grog Shed


Enjoy the experience of picking your own cherries, peaches and sugar plums in season at Wombat Heights Orchard. Sample and buy local produce and gifts from the Grog Shed with a variety of wines, including the famous cherry wine, jams, sauces and chutneys. Not to mention the renowned limoncello and walnut rum as well as the vast range of liqueurs. Also available is a novelty product called 'Wombat Widdle'.

As well as the handmade produce that is made at Wombat Heights, you can sample the fruit as you pick it yourself straight from the tree. There are no entry fees into the orchard and you pay for the fruit that you take - prices per kilogram. There are cool drinks available as well as good amenities and a barbecue in a garden setting, or you can even bring your own picnic.

Coaches are welcome but bookings are essential.

Lambing Flat Chinese Tribute Garden


The Lambing Flat Chinese Tribute Gardens are located at the Chinaman's Dam reserve just four kilometres from the town centre. Now a well established garden set in a quiet, relaxing and picturesque site, the gardens are the perfect spot for a relaxing morning or afternoon with picnic facilities and barbecues.

After crossing the bridge to the garden and passing the marble lion sculptures guarding the garden entrance, make your way to the garden viewing platform and sit and relax overlooking the garden and the Pool of Tranquillity.

The development of the gardens began in 1992 and was established to recognise the contribution of the Chinese community to the settlement of Young in the 1860s, and to the ongoing contributions of the Chinese community to Australia as a Nation. Informative heritage signs provide information on the establishment of the gardens and the dam.

Harden Kite Festival


The Harden Kite Festival is an affordable family-friendly event held in the beautiful Hilltops region of NSW. Enter the kite flying competitions suitable for all ages, to share in AUD800 cash prizes or join in the Ducks-in-a Row World Record Kite Challenge!

Featuring free live music and free activities such as the Stunt Jump, a rock climbing wall, face painting by Deborah Lane, balloon twisting and of course kite flying! Bring your own kite or buy one on the day. Browse the great range of interesting market stalls, look at the Classic Cars, join in on the rides and amusements for the kids or simply sit in the shade and watch the fun. Harden Picnic Races


The Harden and District Picnic Race Club organise an annual picnic race day for the whole family.

There is a full, six race card featuring the CLAAS Harvest Centre Harden Cup. Local and interstate bookmakers will be available as well as a TAB facility. Screens will be available on site for you to stay and watch the Cox Plate.

National Cherry Festival and Youth Councils Fun Run


A fringe event of the National Cherry Festival, the Young Youth Council has organised a fun run where five and ten kilometre events will take place, with sections for varying age levels. Beginning and ending at the Chinese Tribute Gardens, the fun run is a great day out for the whole family.

The Young Masters Rugby League Carnival is the largest 'Masters' Carnival in NSW and second only to the National Masters Carnival held at the Gold Coast.
