St Clair Villa Museum and Archives

St Clair Villa in Goulburn was built between 1843 and 1849. It is a unique example of an early provincial villa, of the late Georgian period, of a classical design.

Over the years St Clair became variously a private home, a 'school for young ladies' and a private boarding house. It was purchased by the Goulburn Council in 1970. Today St Clair Villa is one of the oldest remaining houses in Goulburn and holds important local archives and museum collections including textiles, domestic items, historic photographs, parish maps, newspapers, diaries and journals from early pioneer families from Goulburn and surrounding districts, providing insights into the region's rich historical past.
