Tin Shed Gallery


Enjoy a freshly brewed espresso coffee while soaking in the wonderful views of the Great Dividing Range or view the art works in the Tin Shed Gallery.

Most works are from local artists working in sculpture, painting, pottery or photography although the gallery does have some works from Sydney and Melbourne artists.

The gallery is open most weekends only, or by appointment. It is a short drive from Taralga on the Taralga Road heading toward Oberon.

Taralga Historical Society Museum


Looking for a day's outing?. Then head to historic Taralga. Visit the historical museum and step back in time in the colonial cottage and the slab dairy or the shearing shed/blacksmith complex and the recently added Nissan Hut.

Morning tea and lunch can be arranged by appointment. A worthwhile historical tour of the complex is available at reasonable prices.

Crystal Brook Lavender Farm


Crystal Brook Lavender Farm is open from October to May each year or by appointment in the off season. It is located 20 kilometres from Crookwell in the quaint village of Laggan. Enjoy the scenic views and venture through the many gardens or kick back and relax at the Paris Cafe.

Crystal Brook also holds a variety of events throughout the year including high tea afternoons. Crystal Brook Lavender Farm is also part of the Crookwell Garden Festival which occurs in Spring each year. There are nine different gardens within the farm for you to explore, so take your time and enjoy the surroundings.

With over 60 varieties of lavender in the gardens, you will find something in bloom most of the time.

In the quieter months look out for the dates for Some Sunday Afternoon: High Tea in June, July, August and September each year.

Wombeyan Caves


You can explore the Wollondilly, Junction, Kooringa and Mulwaree caves on a variety of guided tours, and the Figtree Cave is regarded as the state's premier self-guided cave experience.

In 1865, Wombeyan became the first area in Australia to be reserved for the protection of caves and there are still structures dating from the early 1900s in some caves.

Wombeyan Caves is an easy drive from Sydney, Canberra and Wollongong, so it's a great place to escape to on a weekend getaway. You can bring your caravan, tent or motor home to camp out overnight or you can book into one of the cabins or the cosy Post Office Cottage. You might find you have some visitors to the campground, kangaroos can be quite inquisitive.

Taralga Art Show


The Taralga Art Show is an annual event, with 82 artists participating last year.

One of the highlights is the Creative Workshops held for both adults and children. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the community mural, and there are also activity sheets for the children to fill in.

In 2015 well known actor John Howard opened the show and the announcement for the guest celebrity for next year will be made in early 2016.

Lavender, Herb and Chilli Festival


The Lavender, Herb and Chilli Festival will be held at Laggan in January.

Attractions on Saturday include, the gardens and Paris Cafe open all day. Throughout the day there will be lectures, lavender distillation, barbecue lunch, Bonsai workshop, and making cosmetics with Melinda from New Directions.

Attractions on Sunday include, gardens open all day, lavender distillation with Michael, cooking with Clive with herbs, lavender, chilli, and lots more.
