Millthorpe Markets

The Millthorpe Markets are held twice a year, generally on the first Sunday in April and the first Sunday in December. Due to the timing of Easter this year, the first market of 2015 will be on March 22. The markets, which have been running since 2005, are hosted by the Millthorpe Public School P and C Committee, with all funds raised assisting to purchase ongoing educational tools for the School.

The markets are well established and have been called 'the best in the region' by both the stall holders and the thousands of market goers who attend each year. Stall holders come from far and wide to sell their produce in the beautiful surrounds of Redmond Oval. Everything from clothing, jewellery, toys, arts and crafts, woodwork, second hand goods, gourmet and fresh produce, cake stalls, plants, and Christmas decorations are available.

Great Volcanic Mountain Challenge

The Great Volcanic Mountain Challenge is a 'fun run' style event where you can run or walk to the top of Mount Canobolas, near Orange NSW. There is one 11 kilometre course and a two wave start. While the course is mostly uphill only a couple of sections are steep. Start near Towac Pinnacle Picnic Grounds (off Pinnacle Road) you first visit Mt Towac (a steep section but the views make it worth the effort) and then to Young Man Canobolas before the final climb to Mt Canobolas (also steep). The overall climb is 520 metres. Entry open to seniors, juniors and teams.
