The Sculpture Garden is open to the public to enjoy an art and garden experience every third Saturday of the month coinciding with the Laggan Markets or by appointment.

They offer opportunities for creative exploration through their Art Exhibitions and Art Workshops as a community of Artists and Artisans. All exhibition sculptures are available for sale. A meandering sculpture path invites visitors to experience the peacefulness and grandeur of the established trees and screne garden.

Markdale - Edna Walling Garden


Markdale's garden is acknowledged as one of the great country gardens of Australia. Started in the 1920s, the garden was redesigned in 1949 by the pioneer of Australian landscape gardening, Edna Walling.

Extensively rejuvenated in recent years, memorable features include long wisteria and rose pergola, several sculptures and the superb lake with its Chinese bridge.

Crystal Brook Gardens and Lavender Farm is open from October to May each year or by appointment during the off season. It is located 20 kilometres from Crookwell in the quaint village of Laggan. Pig Races at the Laggan Pub


A day of fun for all the family in the beautiful village of Laggan.

Come early for the Laggan Village Markets, where you can buy the best and freshest local produce, then experience classic country festivities at the Laggan Pig Races.

Watch as highly trained, elite young pig athletes race to get to the end of a challenging course and receive a tasty treat!

Other activities on the day include live music and children's jumping castle.

The venue for this country celebration is the grounds of the historic Laggan Hotel, which will feature a tasty selection of pork dishes on the lunch menu.

All proceeds go the Upper Lachlan Foundation, which is a part of the Capital Region Community Foundation, known as "GreaterGood". All funds raised by the Upper Lachlan Foundation go to supporting local community organisations and groups.

Bush Poetry at Laggan Pub


Bush Poets are alive and well at the Laggan Pub. Calling all bush poets and musicians!

Join Mike and Elaine as they coordinate an evening of bush poetry and song at the Laggan Pub, the first Wednesday of each month. Arrive at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

Of course all bush poets love an appreciative audience and the night is open to everyone to come and enjoy the evening in a warm convivial atmosphere at the Laggan Pub.

Laggan was named by Governor Macquarie after his childhood home in Scotland. The pretty, charming village of Laggan was established in the 1850s.

Lavender, Herb and Chilli Festival


The Lavender, Herb and Chilli Festival will be held at Laggan in January.
