Garling Gallery


Garling Gallery is situated in the rural village of Wongarbon, 15 kilometres east of Dubbo in the Central West of New South Wales. The fully restored 100 year old shop front adds historical charm and warmth to the collection of original oils, water colours, pencil and bronze sculpture .The artists studio makes an interesting visit with works in progress at various stages of completion.

Brett 'Mon' Garling is one of Australia's leading figurative sculptors today. Known for his stunning landscapes and elaborate bronze sculptures, his works are highly sought after by investors and private collectors world-wide. You are welcome to experience the gallery and gardens and see first hand how a sculpture is created and cast in bronze in Brett's studio.

Classes in sculpting and drawing are also available catering for beginner to advanced students.

Mount Arthur Reserve


On the 18 August 1817 John Oxley and his party were the first Europeans to sight Mount Arthur, Wellesly and Duke. The three peaks form the basis of the Mount Arthur Reserve which is a public recreation area of 1.3 hectares, situated 563 metres above sea level and offers a good view of Wellington and the Wellington Valley.

Bushwalks of one and a half hours to four hours duration are available through native Australian flora. Designated horse trails are also available. There are many picnic areas, but no camping is permitted.

During spring the hills comes alive with bursts of colour from the gold Wattles, Pea Flowers (Dillwinia juniperina) in indigo, purple and red, Bugle Flower in purple clusters and the Bluebell (Wahlenbergia gracilis) provides a wonderful show.

The Lion of Waterloo


The Lion of Waterloo is believed to be the oldest licensed hotel west of the Blue Mountains that is still standing.
Dating back to 1841, The Lion of Waterloo was a popular destination for coaches, station hands, settlers and later miners.
Cobb and Co coaches would regularly stop here to change horses and refresh passengers before continuing on their journey.
Today the Lion is a charming tavern and restaurant.

Oxley Museum


The John Oxley Museum is a collection of historic artefacts tracing Wellington history from 1830 to present time, containing many photographs and specialty displays.

The museum is housed in the former Bank of NSW building constructed in 1883.

The museum is staffed voluntarily by members of the Wellington Historical Society Incorporated.

Cameron Park


The award winning Cameron Park is in the perfect location right in the middle of Wellington's Central Business District. The park is a great spot to enjoy a picnic, laze under the huge leafy trees or enjoy a leisurely stroll through the beautiful gardens. Evocities MTB Series - Dubbo 300


In 2015 the inaugural Evocities MTB Series was held as the richest MTD Series in the nation, with support from Fairfax Media. The 2016 season promises to be even better with races across all seven of the Evocities. These seven races will attract approximately 4,200 participants and visitors to cities with a combined service population of over one million people in regional NSW. The Dubbo 300 will see Australia's best mountain bikers gear up to compete in the fifth leg of this major regional NSW enduro race series.

Wellington Visitor Information Centre


The Wellington Visitor Information Centre is located in the beautiful, award winning Cameron Park in the centre of Wellington. The Centre is an accredited Information Centre and was first opened in 1971. The centre has recently moved into the more spacious and adjoining 'old Library'.

The Wellington Visitor Information Centre offers a wide variety of local and regional tourist information along with a range of native cosmetics, tea and condiments, local produce and souvenirs.

The friendly and experienced staff at the centre can advise visitors on accommodation, things to see and do, where to eat, and are happy to relay the history of Wellington.
