Oxley Museum


The John Oxley Museum is a collection of historic artefacts tracing Wellington history from 1830 to present time, containing many photographs and specialty displays.

The museum is housed in the former Bank of NSW building constructed in 1883.

The museum is staffed voluntarily by members of the Wellington Historical Society Incorporated.

Who's ready to see some of the toughest 4x4s / rock crawlers in the country? Racetech Steel round three of the TG Rock Series is about to kick off!

An internationally accredited Supercrawl event, competitors will travel from America to compete against the best drivers in Australia. Wellington Bicentenary Welcome Dinner


One of Wellington's many historic buildings, Hermitage Hill, will open its doors and warmly welcome locals and visitors to a weekend of festivities to celebrate the Bicentenary.

Wellington Quota Art Exhibition - Opening Night


The Wellington Quota Art Exhibition is being held in conjunction with SpringFest.

The art exhibition provides local and regional artists and photographers with the opportunity to showcase and sell their work while competing for major prizes on offer. There will also be the opportunity for visitors to vote for their favourite art work and photograph. Quota encourages young people to exhibit with a section in the competition being held just for them.

They kick off with a musical start this year with local acapella group, Stray Notes, performing for guests. Young local talent will also be providing background music all weekend.

Wellington Open Gardens


Wellington Garden Group will once again be opening local gardens for viewing by the public with six properties including four country gardens featuring as part of "Historical Homes and their Gardens".

This year sees a special focus on Wellington's 200 year history this year with all homes featured being built in the 1800 and 1900s (please note that the public will not be able to walk through homes only the gardens).

Highlights of the four country gardens include:

'Nyrang' built of bluestone c.1898 and will feature Sue and Paul's Rustic Garden Art.

'Keston' (pictured) c.1897 featuring Relic Garden Art by Cherie Hughes.

'Towri' c.1880s will feature art work by Jan Payne throughout their Country Rose Garden.

'Narrawa' c.1908 is a non-gardeners garden surrounded by a parkland of trees and sculptures.

While Wellington's streets will also come alive as Terry Frost and Noel and Helen Grimes open their stunning gardens including plant stalls.

All proceeds raised will be donated to the Wellington Public School, St Mary's Catholic School, Wellington High School and Wellington Christian School.

The Wellington Historical Society will also be opening The Oxley Museum for visitor's throughout the day and entry will be a gold coin donation.
