Tucabia

Tucabia is located approximately halfway between Tyndale and Pillar Valley. It is a small country town with a local shop and fuel station. It lies on the alternate Pacific Highway route for visitors heading to the beautiful coastal towns of Minnie Water and Wooli. Visit the Squatters Rest Museum in Tucabia for a wonderful display of how life has changed over the years.

Squatters Rest Private Museum


Surrounded by vintage tractors, engines and farm machinery, there are 19 old style buildings, including a replica 1880 cook house at the Squatters Rest Private Museum. They make the best billy tea and bushman's bread with cocky's joy.

Staff give a guided tour of the fascinating range of rural memorabilia and then it's billy tea and bushman's bread, and a pianola for sing-alongs.

This attraction constantly scores the highest popularity rating with group tours.

Monthly Markets are held on the second Sunday of each month from 8am till 12pm. Enjoy the great country atmosphere and browse stalls including gift ideas, bric-a-brac, cakes, fruit, vegies and jewellery. The Museum is open for a browse during the markets for a small charge.

Lunches and morning and afternoon teas are available for coach groups and bookings.

Alumny Creek School Museum and Reserve


The Alumny School operated from 1872 until 1969. It is now a living museum of school life with significant pieces of equipment, school records and memorabilia reflecting various stages of education over these years.

It's a trip in a time machine back to your primary school days featuring many small details that may be long forgotten. The reserve surrounding the school is like a village green with picnic facilities, shady trees and sports facilities.

Clock Tower Gallery


The Clock Tower Gallery is located in the Clarence River Visitor Information Centre in South Grafton. It is the only outlet in the Clarence Valley for the beautiful works produced by the Members of the Gallery. Many pieces of skilled woodwork, leatherwork, patchwork quilts and wallhangings, knitted articles and glassware are for sale. There are paintings of many different mediums and styles.

Members of the Clock Tower Gallery have a market day at the Visitor Centre on the first Saturday of each month (no market day in January) .

This is a perfect place to shop for a unique gift for that special someone.

Clarence Valley Country Muster


Calliope, a tiny community north-east of Grafton will come alive during the Jacaranda Festival for the 2016 Clarence Valley Country Muster.

The stage is set for the fourth magnificent country music festival that in 2013 broke new ground on the NSW North Coast.

This year, country music superstar Adam Harvey will perform some of his greatest hits at the muster, as well as many other acts!

The muster will also serve up country hospitality including a canteen packed with mouth watering, home grown produce.

Prizes are available for people who would like to perform, including a AUD2000 recording package from Kross Kut Records for the best Walk-Up Artist.

Tour de Woodford


The Rotary Club of Maclean began The Tour de Woodford in 2008 as a way of bringing the community of the Clarence Valley together that gave families and individuals the opportunity to have a great time together, but encourage the more competitive rider to pace themselves against their fellow cyclist on one of two open road course, 25 kilometres or 45 kilometres.

Brushgrove (Recreational Triangle park), has proved to be a popular not only for the riders and their families, but also the residence of Woodford Island. The riders come from across the Valley and beyond, with large groups leaving Grafton, Yamba and Maclean early in the morning.

No matter which course you are on there are Marshals, support and direction signage along the way, it is an open road event. Please follow marshal directions and have a safe and wonderful Tour de Woodford.

Soulful Concert featuring James Morrison


James Morrison has recently returned from highly acclaimed tours of Europe and the USA. In Chicago, at the legendary Green Mill Jazz Club with his Academy Jazz Orchestra, he was reviewed by Howard Reich (Chicago Tribune) who commented: "he's widely admired in the realm of Jazz, particularly for his wizardry on trumpet".

From taking jazz to a city that helped invent that music genre, James Morrison will visit Grafton for only the third time in almost 30 years. This time he will play in the Grafton Cathedral and be supported by Gospel singer, Evelyn Duprai, at the SOULful 2017 Concert, proudly presented by FM 103.1 Loving Life.

The programme will showcase standard jazz gospel tracks and original work by James. Lead-up items will include organ, didgeridoo and Voices Over The Valley winner, Grace McDonald, singing her soon to be release single 'Hold on Now'.
SOULful concert starts at 7pm on Saturday May 13.

Grafton Bridge To Bridge Ski Classic


The Grafton Bridge to Bridge is a 108 kilometre water ski race from Grafton to Harwood Bridge and return, with boats reaching speeds in excess of 120 miles per hour towing two skiers.

The event attracts competitors from Australia, New Zealand and the USA, and is considered one of the toughest events on the water ski racing calendar.

The 2016 running of the event will be the 43rd Bridge To Bridge Ski Classic and includes live music, food vendors, and attractions for the whole family.

Clocktower Gallery Markets


The members of the Clocktower Gallery hold their regular markets on the front veranda at the Clarence River Information Centre on the first Saturday of the month.

The markets start at 9am and run till around 1pm. There are lots of arts and crafts, wood work, leather work, pot plants and homemade goodies. You may also be able to enjoy demonstrations from the talented craft persons presenting their wares.
