Heddon Greta Drive In

Enjoy the latest movie releases in the outdoor ambiance of Heddon Greta Drive In.

You will need an FM car radio or a portable FM radio with reliable batteries in order to hear the sound.

If you wish to sit outside your car, remember to bring a "portable" FM radio. Bring some chairs, bean bags or blankets for your comfort if required. Remember to bring some warm clothes, as the night can get chilly at times.

The first four rows are low vehicle areas. 4WD'S, wagons or hatches with raised tail gates, vehicles with roof racks or high aerials and vehicles which staff feel may impede the viewing of others, must park from row five through to row 15.

Remember, if you enjoy the experience recommend the Heddon Greta Drive In to your friends.

Maitland Markets

Maitland Market is held at the Maitland Showground and displays the best of home made, home grown and home baked goods, artisans, musicians, gourmet food and the finest quality craft ever assembled. With over 600 stalls, the market represents the Hunter Valley's cultural and artistic diversity.

There are second hand goods on sale, but most of the goods at Maitland are new and a large proportion of them are the work of the creative and predominantly local people who sell them. Maitland Markets are also a vehicle for local charities, and for visitors who like to come and experience shopping the way it used to be.

The market is held from 8am to 2pm on the first Sunday of each month excluding January and also on the third Sundays in October, November and December.

St Peters Anglican Church

The Anglican Parish of St Peter at East Maitland is one of the oldest in Australia, commencing with the appointment of the Reverend George Rusden in 1834.

Even in its unfinished state (the tower and spire has never been built), it remains one of the finest parish churches in New South Wales. The Foundation Stone was laid on 12 December 1884 by the newly appointed Primate of Australia, the Most Reverend Alfred Barry and the Church was dedicated for divine service by the Bishop of Newcastle, the Right Reverend JB Pearson on 29 September 1886.

In style, the building is described as decorated gothic, 14th century work. The church contains a plethora of artistic and beautiful furnishings. The most striking are the pulpit, the font, the reredos, the lectern and the Henry Willis pipe organ. Additionally, there is a substantial amount of beautiful stained glass.
