The New Empire Ballroom Ragtime Dance Orchestra in the Chapel

An exciting concert of music from the Ragtime Era 1895 to 1923 - popular tunes and songs of the time! The 16-piece Orchestra are based on the NSW Central Coast, and play original charts sourced from various collectors in the USA and Australia, plus transcriptions of many of the great recordings of that era. Their goal is to present a genuine re-creation of the type of Orchestra that would have been heard in ballrooms, salons, dance halls and radio programs 100 years ago.

The concert in the stunning acoustics of the Chapel will feature the era 1895-1923. Music by Scott Joplin, John Phillip Sousa, WC Handy, Irving Berlin and Nick la Rocca.

The musicians all dress in authentic period costumes - young ladies and gentlemen in formal attire. The audience are encouraged (but not obliged!) to join in the fun and dress in costume of the era 1895-1923.

There will also be a separate workshop for musicians earlier in the day.

Shimano MTB Grand Prix Round Two: Rydal

For round two of the 2017 Shimano MTB Grand Prix Series, events promoter Rocky Trail Entertainment is introducing a brand-new venue: Rydal.

The organisers thrive to deliver a series that is less of an elite- and winners-only-focused competition, but a positive and inclusive experience for all participants. At the centre of the race results will be a General Classification (GC) determining the major winners of a race. A wider variety of age groups is offered - racers can participate in four or seven hour events.

Be a #rockytrailracer on a fun course with lots of singletrail that snakes through the bush land in the Central Tablelands. Race participants can register online ahead of the event and spectator entry is free. All race photos are included in the entry fee.
