About 11km south-west of Cessnock in the Hunter Valley west of Newcastle - the renowned wine and horse stud region - Paxton gives easy access to the delights of this sophisticated part of the world. There are world-class wineries in abundance, great restaurants and cafes, along with art and craft galleries. And then there are the manicured studs that continue to produce much of the cream of Australia's race tracks. You can inspect most of the larger wineries and quite a few of the horse studs.

Paxton lies about midway between the coal city of Cessnock and historic Wollombi, staging post in the days when Cobb & Co plied the old north road. The village of Paxton developed round the pithead of Stainford Main No 2 Colliery.

A turn to the right at the top of a hill just beyond the Paxton Hotel on the road north-east to Ellalong takes you into the Congewai Valley which was once the personal domain of settler Thomas Crawford. Beyond Ellalong, the road which skirts the Aberdare State Forest on the loop back to the Wollombi Road presents views across the Ellalong Swamp to the Watagan Mountains.

The Listies 6D is jam packed full of all the high-brow things that kids love, like fart jokes and vomiting and aims to make everyone in the audience, including dads, LOL (laugh out loud), ROLF (roll on the floor laughing) and even ROLFSHALBOWCO (roll on the floor laughing so hard a little bit of wee comes out). They may even film it and put it on Youtube!

Written in 1987, by Anthony McCarten and Stephen Sinclair, Ladies Night has been translated into twelve languages and remains New Zealand's most commercially successful play, of all time.
With eight sell-out tours of Britain and the U.K, it won France's premiere theatre award for comedy- The Moli?re Prize, in 2001.

Ladies Night will leave you hyperactive and ready to party! It's the kind of show that you can take your granny to ... Cheeky, fun, a little bit naughty - and a damn good giggle.

Elvis to the Max

The memory and legend lives on in a very special concert event, Elvis to the Max, starring one of the world's first and most-successful Elvis impersonator Max Pellicano, whose uncanny resemblance and equally chilling performance has mesmerised Australians over the last two decades.

His recreation of "The King" looks, moves, vocal style, impressions and humour is so accurate, its awe-inspiring.

You need to sound like the real thing and Max Pellicano has worked hard at that. Not only is the voice important, it's also knowing how to become the man himself on stage. There are lots of Elvis impersonators around, but Max Pellicano is considered as the best.

In addition, the costumes worn by Max Pellicano are exact replicas made by Elvis' personal tailor Bill Bellow. Elvis To The Max will re-create for one special night the 'The King in Concert', proudly presented in Australia by Abstract Entertainment.
