Tinonee is one of the most historic villages in the Manning Valley and is situated on the banks of the Manning River. During the 1900s, Tinonee was an important shipping trade destination. The tall majestic sailing ships plying the river were an everyday sight as Tinonee buzzed with commerce and industry.

Enjoy a picnic in the picturesque Horace Dean Park which has barbecues and picnic tables and overlooks the Manning River and Taree Estate.

Just a short distance away are breathtaking panoramic views from Brushy Cutting Lookout located on the Tinonee to Wingham Road.

This 10 minute panoramic drive from Tinonee to Wingham is picture perfect. Tourist Drive 8 can be resumed at Wingham.

The purpose of the Tinonee Historical Society Museum is to preserve the past for current and future generations. It is a place for learning, remembrance and to honour the pioneers and founders of our local area, Tinonee.

Tinonee Historical Society Museum is a small unique museum where you can research the history of the area. Experience the local history with an inspection of the original Gaol Cell which is located inside the Museum.

Easter Powerboat Spectacular


Every year, the town of Taree on the Manning River plays host to the Easter Powerboat Spectacular. The event attracts both local and international drivers with some of the best racing on offer, right on the banks of the picturesque Manning River. Starting on Good Friday the event runs until Easter Monday, with great viewing along the foreshore of Taree from Fotheringham Park to Endeavour Place.

New Year's Eve - Fireworks on the Foreshore


Join in the fun this New Year's Eve at Taree's favourite family event. Fireworks on the Foreshore runs the length of the stunning Manning River foreshore, from the Martin Bridge to the Sailing Club.

Entry is free, and there will be live music and entertainment; novelties and activities for the kids and kids-at-heart; a festive, picnic atmosphere. The event culminates in a spectacular fireworks display over the water at 9pm.

This is a family-friendly and alcohol-free event.
