Southern Cotton Gin


Southern Cotton operates a state of the art cotton gin in Whitton, New South Wales, in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area.

Southern Cotton, Australia's newest ginning facility, was built and commissioned in the 2012 season and boasts state of the art technology in quality measurement, cleaning, humidification, processing and data traceability. This technology ensure maximum yield and quality potential of lint is achieved.

From when the bales are brought in, cleaned and packed ready to ship out, Southern Cotton's specially-built observation walkways allow visitors to witness these stages first-hand in a safe environment. You could also see their two enormous yellow moon buggies in action!

Whitton Courthouse and Historical Museum


Whitton Courthouse and Gaol, built in 1890, was last used as a Court of Petty Sessions in 1975. Two years later it was handed over to a Public Committee for redevelopment as a museum. The museum was officially opened in 1988 and has since had unique historic memorabilia and restored buildings such as the restored Railway Station and butcher's shop added to it.

Riverina Classic Fishing Competition


The Riverina Classic Fishing Competition and combined Riverside Markets are a major family events weekend run over two days.

The annual Riverina Classic offers over AUD60,000 in prizes and giveaways and has helicopter joy flights, dodgem cars, jumping castles, River Market stalls, kids games, River Train rides, entertainment, food stalls and catering, and heaps more.

The event is organised by the APEX Club and the Darlington Point Riverside Caravan Park.
