Baratto Wines

Baratto Wines produce traditional varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Chardonnay, Semillon and Trebbiano or, if you prefer something unique, try their Fragolina or Botrytis Port.

Their wines are seasonal, meaning each vintage is unique due to weather and conditions of that year. After harvest, Peter assesses each wine. Based on its merits he then decides on the blends and varietals. For this reason stock may be limited and the product list is always changing.

Keeping in mind his European heritage, where family and friends gather together for a glass or two of wine with lunch and dinner, Peter specialises in quality wine packaged in 15 litre casks with an easy pour tap.

Baratto Cellar door also has a changing display of gifts and local art works for sale.

Griffith Citrus Sculptures

Griffith comes alive with an amazing display of more than 60, larger than life, three dimensional Citrus Sculptures. The Citrus Sculptures line the main street of Griffith, creating a spectacular gateway to the city and are on display for two weeks. The Sculptures are wacky and creative and include a grand piano, a giant guitar, a chicken, and a Cinderella horse and carriage.

The Sculptures are unique to Australia, and are based on the famous lemon sculptures of Menton, France. They are created using 100,000 oranges and rubber bands, and an army of 700 volunteers. Sculptures are created by schools, service clubs, community groups and multi-national companies - it is a fabulous community event.

The Sculptures are celebrated during the Griffith Festival of Gardens in October.

On stage in Memorial Park, there'll be dance and music performances to keep everyone entertained for a fun day of community celebrations.

Griffith is home to around 20 different cultural groups and many of them are involved in this community event - Fijians, Samoans, Maoris, Chinese, Chileans, Italians, Aboriginal groups and more. You'll have the chance to eat locally-made ice cream and coffee, pizza and pasta and maybe a glass of local wine.

Watch out for a few extra surprises this year! Last year it was bagpipes.
