Callala Bay, on the shores of Jervis Bay, is a quaint little coastal village known for its beaches, safe bay swimming and dolphin parades. There is excellent sailing here and a regional boat ramp and jetty provide easy access to the water.

With close proximity to the Beecroft Peninsula, Callala Bay offers you a great vantage point to watch the whales heading north (in June/July) and returning south (from September to November).

Chatham Gallery

At the Chatham Gallery you are welcome to drop in and browse their collection, choose a painting in the gallery, or commission a painting or sculpture of your choice.

Join in the ongoing classes or book a holiday class and create your own works of art. Classes are for adults and children and run for approximately three hours with all equipment supplied for your convenience.

Classes range from beginners to advanced. They cover a diverse range of styles including realism, abstract, fantasy art, modern, and mixed media; and mediums including oils, acrylics, watercolours, scratch work, pastels, mixed media, graphite drawing, and wood etching.

Class cost starts from AUD20 for two hours. Additional costs apply if you need to use the instructors equipment (brushes, paints, and so on). Canvas and paper can be supplied. You will get a student discount card for supplies and framing.

Jervis Bay Maritime Museum

The Jervis Bay Maritime Museum (formerly Lady Denman Maritime Museum) features a world renowned collection of maritime artefacts and navigational and surveying instruments. The museum exhibits a range of nautical equipment, models, photographs, paintings, drawings and objects relating to the history and heritage of the Jervis Bay area.

The museum is home to the historic Lady Denman - a wooden Inner Harbour Sydney ferry built in Huskisson in 1911 and retired in 1979. She was returned home in 1980, but remains the only wooden vessel of her kind in NSW.

Located in Huskisson, Jervis Bay, the Museum enjoys a waterfront location on Currambene Creek. Positioned in a beautiful bush setting in Jervis Bay, the complex includes a large recreation area with native gardens, a mangrove boardwalk, fish feeding pond, boathouse, and historic buildings.

Laddie Timbery Bidjigal Aboriginal Art and Crafts

Members of the Timbery family regularly produce the artwork and artefacts sold in the shop. Paintings, both traditional and contemporary, are on offer as is Laddie's artwork. Laddie's specialty is burning-in - a technique for burning designs into wood. Other family members are highly regarded for their shell art. There are many other artefacts sold including boomerangs, didgeridoos and bullroarers; many are beautifully decorated and all are authentically sourced from Aboriginal artists in regional New South Wales and around Australia.

Laddie is in the shop most days and is always happy to demonstrate boomerang throwing or talk with you about the history of the artwork, what the artefacts are used for, and of course Aboriginal culture, history, and Dreamtime legend. On any day, there is someone at the shop to 'yarn' with on these topics.

XTERRA Asia-Pacific Championship

XTERRA is booming in the Asia-Pacific region, and highlighting this growth is the Asia-Pacific Championship.

This premier off-road triathlon and trail running event will be held just a few hours south of Sydney in Callala Beach, on pristine Jervis Bay, New South Wales.

The main Championship event offers AUD50,000 in pro prize money and the title of Asia-Pacific champion in every division. Amateurs will vie for coveted XTERRA World Championship qualifying slots to amateur competitors. A half distance and beginner- friendly Xticer, as well as kids triathlon are available

This event is much loved by those who know this as the "Boutique Triathlon". Set on the northern shores of Jervis Bay, Callala Beach is a pristine location with a laid back feel. Jervis Bay Maritime Museum Markets

The Jervis Bay Maritime Museum which is located within beautiful Jervis Bay, holds a monthly produce and craft market in the grounds surrounding the complex.
