Callala Bay, on the shores of Jervis Bay, is a quaint little coastal village known for its beaches, safe bay swimming and dolphin parades. There is excellent sailing here and a regional boat ramp and jetty provide easy access to the water.

With close proximity to the Beecroft Peninsula, Callala Bay offers you a great vantage point to watch the whales heading north (in June/July) and returning south (from September to November).

At the Chatham Gallery you are welcome to drop in and browse their collection, choose a painting in the gallery, or commission a painting or sculpture of your choice.

Join in the ongoing classes or book a holiday class and create your own works of art. Classes are for adults and children and run for approximately three hours with all equipment supplied for your convenience.

Classes range from beginners to advanced. They cover a diverse range of styles including realism, abstract, fantasy art, modern, and mixed media; and mediums including oils, acrylics, watercolours, scratch work, pastels, mixed media, graphite drawing, and wood etching.

Class cost starts from AUD20 for two hours. Additional costs apply if you need to use the instructors equipment (brushes, paints, and so on). Canvas and paper can be supplied. You will get a student discount card for supplies and framing.

Callala 16 is an exhibition and sale of local Callala Beach artist, Hela Donela's recent works.

Hela Donela is an emerging Australian artist born in Finland and living on Callala Beach. Her works have been exhibited in Sydney and overseas, they are a reflection of her exquisite awareness of the natural world and coastal surroundings where she lives.

Hela's paintings are an invitation to visual meditation and provide moments of peace in the middle of people's busy lives. Many of her works incorporate unique use of metal wire and staples.

XTERRA Asia-Pacific Championship

XTERRA is booming in the Asia-Pacific region, and highlighting this growth is the Asia-Pacific Championship.

Ultimate Callala Triathlon Festival

The triCallala Triathlon Festival event is much loved by those who know this as the "Boutique Triathlon". Set on the northern shores of Jervis Bay, Callala Beach is a pristine location with a laid back feel. There is no hustle and bustle, just water front homes and beach shacks, and another wonderful spot to race. Get in early as there is limited space and join Elite Energy this December for a hit before the Santa season kicks in.

For the first time, the Ultimate Triathlon event will be part of the triCallala Triathlon Festival. The secluded shores of Callala Beach are the perfect location for this 1.9 kilometre swim where athletes will complete a rectangular shaped course. Athletes will then mount their bikes and head out on a 90 kilometre ride through the surrounding region lined by the breathtaking Jervis Bay National Park. Once off the bike participants head out on a 21.1 kilometre mostly flat run finishing back at quaint township of Callala Beach.

Along with the try-a-triathlon, Kids Miniman, Enticer, Sprint, Enforcer and Club distance events - there's something for all ages and motivations!
