Nowra Hill Lookout


The Nowra Hill Lookout offers panoramic views of the Shoalhaven and Jervis Bay areas. It is a pleasant stroll along the Commodore's Walk to the the Lookout. Seats are placed along the walk and at the lookout. The runway at HMAS Albatross may also be viewed from the lookout.

There are some good local bushwalks within the Nowra district, notably Bens Walk which is an easy, shady and well-graded riverbank walk winding beside the Shoalhaven River, affording excellent views of the local district. On the bank of the Shoalhaven River in North Nowra is the Wildlife Park which offers over 100 species of Australian wildlife.

Jervis Bay Maritime Museum


The Jervis Bay Maritime Museum features a world renowned collection of maritime artefacts and navigational and surveying instruments. The Museum exhibits a range of nautical equipment, models, photographs, paintings, drawings and objects relating to the history and heritage of the Jervis Bay area.

The Museum is home to the historic Lady Denman ferry and other historic vessels.

Located in Huskisson, Jervis Bay, the Museum enjoys a waterfront location on Currambene Creek. Positioned in a beautiful bush setting in Jervis Bay, the complex includes a large recreation area with native gardens, a mangrove boardwalk, fish feeding pond, boathouse and historic buildings.

The Jervis Bay region has a rich history of Indigenous culture and the museum sits on the land traditionally owned by the Dharawal and Dhurga people. The indigenous culture of the area is outlined in the Jervis Bay History exhibition.

Fleet Air Arm Museum


The Royal Australian Navy invites you, your family and friends to visit the Fleet Air Arm Museum at HMAS Albatross Nowra. Explore and experience the story of naval aviation from its beginnings to the present day.

The current exhibition "Wings over Water" tells the story of naval aviation in Australia, with aircraft from the 20th Century, ranging from a World War One Sopwith Pup to an A4 Skyhawk jet fighter. The exhibition also includes examples of allied and foreign aircraft, like the MiG-17 fighter. Showcases and audio visual displays add to the stories of these aircraft and those who flew and fixed them.

Individual displays include the US 135th Assault Helicopter that incorporated the RAN Helicopter Flight-Vietnam and a special exhibit on Admiral Sir Victor Smith. The Museum's flight simulator provides a 'virtual experience', for all ages, on what it is like in the pilot's seat.

The museum grounds will come alive with a magical sound and light production. Special guest and internationally acknowledged digital media artist, Craig Walsh will work with local Indigenous artist Julie Freeman to bring her stories to life by projecting striking images onto the landscapes within the Museum reserve.
Art After Dark, the Museum will be open and will be your last chance to see the seechange exhibitions on display, including Illuminate, The Mind and Times of Lesley Speed, Marine Debris and Marine Relics.
There will be food stalls and a pop up bar. Dress warmly and bring a torch!

Jervis Bay Maritime Museum Markets


The Jervis Bay Maritime Museum which is located within beautiful Jervis Bay, holds a monthly produce and craft market in the grounds surrounding the complex.
