Worrigee is a suburb situated to the east of South Nowra. On Greenwell Point Road you'll find the Springs Resorts Shoalhaven, a large resort housing the Worrigee Links 18 hole golf course, pro shop and lawn bowls facilities.

Accommodation is available in Nowra and the closest caravan park is at Terara.

There is a very good smaller shopping centre at East Nowra, which borders Worrigee.

Werninck Craft Cottage


Werninck Craft Cottage is typical of many small cottages built in the district by settlers in the late 19th and early 20th century. This simple weatherboard cottage was erected by Joseph Turner for his son in law, Thomas Werninck in the early 1900s. Local handcrafts are sold at the cottage with all profits going to local charities in the area.

The Cottage is situated in central Nowra close to the main central business district and offers an insight into the local arts and crafts as well as an opportunity to provide much needed funds to local charitable organisations.

Nowra Museum and Shoalhaven Historical Society


The Nowra Museum and Shoalhaven Historical Society aims to promote and encourage the study of Australian history and in particular, that of the Shoalhaven district.

Founded in 1967 the Nowra Museum is located in the former police station and contains displays focusing on the Nowra district, using plenty of photographs held by the Society.

The Museum also houses an archival and research centre, book and photographic shop with dozens of local history publications and framed photos for sale.

Shoalhaven City Arts Centre is a regional art gallery with access to a broad range of national, regional and local arts, especially showcasing the artistic and cultural strength, diversity and activity of the arts community of the Shoalhaven area.

The Arts Centre has four gallery spaces with the Main Gallery featuring invited exhibitions, travelling national and regional collections and selected community shows. Bens Walk


Bens Walk commences at the Showground. Enjoy superb views of the river and the golf course. Views of the mountains can be seen from vantage points along the way. The area surrounding Bens Walk provides a habitat for a variety of birds.

The complete track provides a leisurely return walk of about 5.5 kilometres taking around two hours. A short return walk from the footbridge to the Showground and Hanging Rock takes around 10 minutes.

A suspension bridge has been constructed to provide a loop walk on both sides of the creek and to give access to Depot Farm Reserve and its picnic area.
