Woolwich Dock and Parklands


Woolwich Dock and Parklands is both a working maritime precinct and one of Sydney's most beautiful foreshore parklands.

Explore Sydney's maritime past with a visit to Woolwich Dock where boats have been built and repaired for more than a century. Watch vessels being lifted in and out of the water at this majestic sandstone dry-dock, which is linked to parklands by picturesque walkways with breathtaking harbour views.

The adjacent Woolwich Lookout is a dramatic cantilevered platform that juts out over the dock's sandstone cutting, offering sweeping views of the maritime activity below as well as the city skyline, the Harbour Bridge, and the nearby Lane Cover River and Balmain peninsula.

The surrounding paddocks and parks, linked by scenic walking tracks, are the perfect place for a picnic. Or relax and have lunch at the Deckhouse restaurant and function centre on the foreshore of Woolwich Dock.

Cockatoo Island


Only a short ferry ride from Sydney's city centre is Cockatoo Island, Sydney Harbour's largest island and one of Australia's most fascinating historical sites.

Take an audio tour or self-guided journey and explore the island's convict and shipbuilding history. Stop for refreshments and take in the sweeping harbour views from Societ? Overboard cafe and the Cockatoo Island Marine Centre. Play tennis on the court with some of the best views in Sydney. Pick up a free children's activity guide or hire a boat from the Marine Centre.

Greenwich Baths


Greenwich Baths is a beautifully located harbour beach at the tip of Greenwich Point, run by leisure management company, Bluefit. Shark-netted and fully enclosed, it is perfect for families, lap-swimmers, and locals/visitors alike who wish to relax with a coffee.

Beach toys are provided, as well as sun-loungers to enjoy the glorious views across Sydney Harbour. The kiosk provides delicious food all day, including fish and chips, salt and pepper squid, plenty of snacks and yummy gelatos. For food or a coffee at the cafe tables, entry is free. There is a small admission fee for customers to access the beach and changing room facilities.

Discounted 10-visit passes and season passes are available for keen to return visitors. The baths are easily accessible from Greenwich Point ferry or the 265 bus. Bluefit runs Movie nights, a Beach Nippers Program and takes bookings for birthday parties - contact reception for details.

Dawn Fraser Baths


Built in the early 1880's, Dawn Fraser Baths is the oldest pool in Australia and home to both the Balmain Water Polo and Swimming clubs. Both are the oldest of their kind and operate weekly through the season.

The baths is a tidal flow salt water harbour pool. At low tide there is a beach for children to build sandcastles. The kiosk serves hot food, snacks and ice creams.

Water Quality - After heavy rain, the pool, like other swimming locations such as beaches, may be closed if the water quality is not to standard.

The Baths are available for after hours function hire (conditions apply). So too is a marquee, prices on application. A great location for a unique and memorable way to celebrate an occasion and create an atmosphere with a difference.

The season commences the start of Daylight Saving (October) to the end of Daylight Savings (April).

HarbourSculpture


HarbourSculpture is a unique sculpture exhibition, held annually on Sydney Harbour.

Spread across Clarkes Point Reserve Woolwich and through the Deckhouse function centre and surrounds, HarbourSculpture also showcases the extraordinary natural environment setting in which the event is held.

They aim to present, support and encourage contemporary Australian sculpture that reflects the history and place of sculpture in Australia, and to engage the community in the visual experience of sculptural works and sculptural space against our harbour location.

HarbourSculpture is an independent, not-for-profit project run by volunteers.

The event is supported by a range of wonderful local and national organisations and businesses, in particular major sponsors Deckhouse Woolwich, Hunters Hill Council and the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust.
