Bundeena is a pretty seaside village on the shores of the Port Hacking River, accessible from Cronulla by ferry or by driving through the Royal National Park. With beautiful beaches, historical walks and a thriving art scene, Bundeena offers a perfect short break from Sydney.

Accommodation includes cabins, camping at Bundeena and Bonnie Vale and a number of Bed and Breakfasts. On the first Sunday of the each month, local artists open their studios to the public on the Bundeena Art Trail. Other activities include kayaking, swimming and picnics.

Bundeena and Maianbar Art Trail


Forget the misery of the grey cold city and experience the Bundeena and Maianbar Art Trail open day in the Royal National Park.

You can walk or drive to open artist's studios in the villages of Bundeena and Maianbar. An interest in art and creativity is all you need for admission. All visitors are welcome, the first time 'trailer' or the open day regular, the serious collector or the window shopper.

There are more than 20 very different artists waiting to welcome you, not only into their studios but also into their private world of creativity. Artworks on show and for sale include paintings, drawings, printmaking, woodcarving, decorative and functional pottery, glassware and jewellery. There is something here for everyone.

Art Trail is a group of creative individuals who live in Royal National Park. Drive via Sutherland or take the ferry from Cronulla.

Shelly Park, Cronulla


Shelly Beach has a large park area and is located near ocean baths.

Shelly Beach has a rocky shoreline with an ocean bath for swimming and is a great option for parents with younger children. There is a large grassed area, barbecues for public use, and a fenced playground (with a liberty swing for children with disability). Across the road from the park is a kiosk and restaurant. The area is easily accessed by prams and people with disability. The ocean baths are not patrolled by lifeguards.

Dogs are prohibited on the beach. Dogs on-leash are allowed on the walkways and in the park. Dogs are prohibited within 10 metres of the fenced playground.

The park and beach are popular locations for wedding ceremonies and wedding photography.

To hold a ceremony or have related photography at the park you must contact the council to make a booking.

Cronulla, in the Sutherland Shire on Sydney's southern coast, is the only Sydney beach that can be reached by train, meaning you can visit without the headache of finding a carpark.

Bundeena Saltwater Market


Bundeena Saltwater Market is run on the first Sunday of the month.

Come down and chill out in the picturesque coastal town of Bundeena. From Cronulla Wharf take a scenic ferry ride across the water to this hamlet in the Hacking. If coming by car enjoy a wonderful drive through the Royal National Park.

Just a short walk from Bundeena wharf you can drop by the local Saltwater Market featuring products from several local artists and natural product suppliers. And for the foodie there's fresh baked bread, specialty cheeses, and home made jams and chutneys.

After the markets, stroll along the adjoining Horderns Beach or for the more adventurous enjoy a bush walk in the stunning Royal National Park.

Then catch the ferry back home to end the perfect day.

Hogs For Dogs Harley Ride


Ever dreamed of riding on the back of a Harley Davidson?

Leaving at 9am from Cronulla Beach, ticket holders will enjoy a scenic ride on the back of a Harley Davidson all the way from Cronulla to Mount Keira Lookout where rider's tanks are recharged with morning tea. Upon return participants can enjoy a barbecue lunch in the park, thanks to the great guys at Cronulla Hogs Breath Cafe.
