Cronulla Beach


Cronulla, in the Sutherland Shire on Sydney's southern coast, is the only Sydney beach that can be reached by train, meaning you can visit without the headache of finding a carpark.

Shelly Beach has a large park area and is located near ocean baths.

Shelly Beach has a rocky shoreline with an ocean bath for swimming and is a great option for parents with younger children. There is a large grassed area, barbecues for public use, and a fenced playground (with a liberty swing for children with disability). Across the road from the park is a kiosk and restaurant. The area is easily accessed by prams and people with disability. The ocean baths are not patrolled by lifeguards.

Dogs are prohibited on the beach. Dogs on-leash are allowed on the walkways and in the park. Dogs are prohibited within 10 metres of the fenced playground.

The park and beach are popular locations for wedding ceremonies and wedding photography.

To hold a ceremony or have related photography at the park you must contact the council to make a booking.

Original Source Australian Boardriders Battle


The Original Source Australian Boardriders Battle is the country's biggest grassroots, boardriders event series with AUD110,000 in prize money.

It will involve more than 100 of Australia's best boardriders clubs in eight State qualifying rounds starting in October and culminate in a two-day, national final for 20 clubs on the Australia Day Long Weekend at Cronulla in Sydney.

Hogs For Dogs Harley Ride

Heart Foundation Gear Up Girl Ride


The Heart Foundation Gear Up Girl Ride is Sydney's largest, women's only, recreational cycling event. Created to get women of all ages and abilities on their bikes, come rediscover the freedom of riding.

Enjoy three ride options of 20 kilometre, 40 kilometre, or 60 kilometre routes. The rides include the safety of both off-road cycleways and dedicated on-road cycle lanes to encourage participation, meandering along the Cooks River Cycleway and spectacular Cronulla coastline.

It's about encouraging women to lead an active and healthy lifestyle while promoting the benefits of cycling as an environmentally sustainable mode of transport and recreation.

The ride begins at 8.30am with an expected finished time of 1.30pm.
