The inaugural festival commenced in 2014 with only eight schools and to date over 30 schools are now involved. They expect these numbers to increase each year with the introduction of the diversity section for high school groups.

PacFest is a highly impactful youth initiative, which has been hugely successful at increasing the levels of social inclusion, social cohesion and achievement of Pacific, Maori and Indigenous high school students in Sydney. Created by High School Community Liaison Officers and Youth workers, PacFest uses Pacific, Maori and Indigenous Performing Arts as a platform to help young people realise that every young person is a unique individual, yet part of an awesome cultural community in Australia.
