Keith Longhurst Reserve


The Keith Longhurst Reserve is a 76 hectare bushland reserve with significant scenic and cultural values.

Formerly known as The Basin Reserve, the area offers a number of walking trails leading down to the Georges River, including The Basin Walking Trail and the Old Ford Road Walking Trail, which is a historic road built in the 1880s to cross the Georges River. This popular scenic waterhole showcases a small waterfall feature.

There are no formal picnic facilities or amenities located at Keith Longhurst Reserve.

The Basin Walking Track is a two kilometre return walk. The grade is medium though it does have steep sections and parts of it are a loose and rocky unsealed surface.

The Old Ford Road Walking Trackis a 2.6 kilometre return walk. The grade is medium though it does have steep sections and parts of it are a loose and rocky unsealed surface.

Freres Crossing Bushwalk


A very light grade bushwalk will take you through some beautiful bushland to the Georges River. Filled with native flora, including Gymea lilies, fuchsia heath and grevilleas among other nestled between scribbly gums and grey gums.

Take a look at the remains of the Freres Crossing Bridge, named after early settler George Pierre Frere, and sit and relax and the tranquil beauty that surrounds you.

This seven hectare area of parkland is one of Campbelltown's most visited outdoor sites, and contains an area of endangered Cumberland Plain Woodland as well as important riparian (riverside) plant species.

The park is suitable for picnicking and walking, with a number of winding tracks. Playground and barbecue facilities are also available on site.

Ingleburn Reserve


Situated on the Georges River, the reserve contains the historic Ingleburn Weir, which was constructed in the late 1930s to provide a swimming area for the local community.

The weir has a high heritage significance due to its sandstone structure and form. Works were conducted in 2009 to enhance fish passage in the river system and maintain the heritage value of the weir.

The vegetation community at Ingleburn Reserve is classified as the endangered ecological community, Shale Sandstone Transition Forest. The reserve is home to a number of endangered plant species as well as a range of native birds, some marsupials, other small mammals and reptiles.

Picnic tables, play equipment and an amenity block are located at the reserve.

Ingleburn Reserve Walking Trail is a 400 metre return walk. It is a medium grade and has sandstone steps and loose, rocky, unsealed surface.

Asia's most prestigious club competition comes to Campbelltown - the Asian Champion's League.

The Champions League sees the best teams from the continent play-off to find the best club in Asia. In 2014 the Wanderers became the first Australian team to win the competition. A sporting event that you must put on the calendar.

Catch a Carp Competition


Campbelltown City Council will once again be hosting the Catch a Carp competition.

The Catch a Carp competition encourages the community to join the fight against carp with the goal of reducing the numbers of this pest species in our waterways.

There will be great prizes on offer across a range of age categories, including biggest carp caught, smallest carp caught, most carp caught and a mystery length prize. Participants will also enjoy a free sausage sizzle and the chance to win great raffle prizes thanks to event sponsors.
