Bring some lush greenery indoors! A terrarium is the sustainable, low maintenance indoor garden, and is a beautiful addition to office desks, kitchen tables, or other well lit spots in your home. During this workshop, you will learn how to create your own terrarium and take home your unique eco-friendly glass garden. The workshop will be run by leading florist Nicole.

What you will get: One large glass bowl terrarium. All materials will be provided including aprons, glass containers, rocks, pebbles, succulents, and potting mix. Tea, coffee and delicious homemade cakes will be served during the workshop.

New Beginnings Festival for Refugee Week


The New Beginnings: Refugee Arts and Culture Festival is a free celebration of the artistic talents and heritage of people from refugee backgrounds. Events will be held throughout 2017, starting with a program of activities for Refugee Week.

Singular/Plural art exhibition:
Singular/Plural will showcase artworks from both established Sydney artists and artists from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds.

Meet the artists:
Artists in the Singular/Plural exhibition will also facilitate two workshops.

Community Kouzina- Persian Tea Ceremony:
Watch ritual become art during a traditional Persian tea ceremony performed by Ladan Haghighat. Guests are invited to sample Ladan's tea, and will learn how to make their own, using a mixture of herbs and spices. A Community Kouzina installation is also featured alongside Singular/Plural (check exhibition details for opening times).

Screening: Sydney Stories
Experience a night of film showcasing shorts created by newly arrived refugees that explore concepts of place and belonging.
