City of Canada Bay Museum

Mervyn Victor Richardson took 'borrowing your neighbours lawn mower' to a whole new level when he laid eyes on the petrol-driven rotary mower designed by neighbour Lawrence Hall, a Marine Engineer, in 1948. Dawn Fraser Baths

Built in the early 1880's, Dawn Fraser Baths is the oldest pool in Australia and home to both the Balmain Water Polo and Swimming clubs. Both are the oldest of their kind and operate weekly through the season.

The baths is a tidal flow salt water harbour pool. At low tide there is a beach for children to build sandcastles. The kiosk serves hot food, snacks and ice creams.

Water Quality - After heavy rain, the pool, like other swimming locations such as beaches, may be closed if the water quality is not to standard.

The Baths are available for after hours function hire (conditions apply). So too is a marquee, prices on application. A great location for a unique and memorable way to celebrate an occasion and create an atmosphere with a difference.

The season commences the start of Daylight Saving (October) to the end of Daylight Savings (April).

Cockatoo Island

NYE Harbour Cruise onboard Silver Spirit

Celebrate NYE in style onboard classic motor vessel; Silver Spirit. With only 40 guests over three levels on the 60 foot boat, there is plenty of room to enjoy the evenings festivities avoiding the crowds.

Each year Silver Spirit is part of the Harbour of Light Parade, allowing guests to experience front row viewing of both firework displays within the exclusion zones.

The fully inclusive cruise includes an open bar with a selection of beer, wines and spirits along with soft drinks. The buffet dinner is accompanied with canap?s to start. The evening is tailored towards a family friendly evening with all ages welcome. While there is music on board they are not a 'party boat' - they offer a relaxed but sophisticated night.
