Out Parramatta way west of Sydney's CBD, Dundas epitomises the rapid development of the 2000 Olympic city with rezoning resulting in intensive residential development devouring the traditional bungalow on a quarter acre block so long the goal of the average Australian family.

Long gone, too, is another family institution of the 1950s and 60s, the Dundas twin drive-in theatre, to which people throughout Sydney made the pilgrimage to savour the singular experience of watching second-run movies with the kids sound asleep (hopefully) on the back seat.

Today hundreds of apartments occupy the concrete field of dreams. Despite the developer"s encroachment, however, the Dundas Valley region is endowed with a generous green belt parkland which includes historic Brush Park.

Major roads also provide direct and rapid access to Parramatta and the river-highway to the Olympic complex and the city, to the North Shore and beyond to the world-famous bush and ocean playgrounds of Ku-ring-gai Chase and the northern beaches.
