Brickpit Ring Walk

The Ring Walk is an elevated circular walkway that allows visitors to access and view the Brickpit from above while preserving the habitat of the endangered Green and Golden Bell frog.

The Ring Walk is 550 metres in circumference and is raised 18.5 metres above the sandstone floor of the Brickpit. The Ring Walk allows many people to experience the Brickpit while fully recognising it as a fragile habitat. Once home the State Brickworks, a self guided walk past information panels outlines the location's environmental and heritage significance .

Free BirdLife Australia Walks

In celebration of World Wetlands Day, Sydney Olympic Park will host two free guided walks for families.

The first free guided walk of the day will commence at 9am at the Waterbird Refuge, Bicentennial Park, where bird lovers can watch the native waterbirds in their natural environment.

The afternoon walk will start at 1pm at Lake Belvedere within Bicentennial Park, where birds nesting on the island can be viewed.

The day will be educational for adults and fun-filled for kids with children's activities to be played on both walks. Bookings aren't required so turn up and enjoy the local birds within the picturesque setting of Bicentennial Park.

Meatstock Festival

Meat lovers will have plenty to sink their teeth into next Valentine's day with the inaugural Meatstock Festival held at the Sydney Showgrounds.

The two-day meat filled extravaganza will feature bands, barbecues, beards, butchers, bourbon, barbers, beer and much more. Meat mad couples are not the only ones set to experience serious flavour hits across the board, as every purchase of an adult ticket comes with the option of a free children's ticket.

Also unique to the festival are the Cutthroat Barber Wars, which will take place against a back drop of live blues bands including The Beards, The Snowdroppers and Henry Wagons. The big drawcard of the contest schedule, however, is the A&E Sydney Barbecue Wars, in which 40 teams from across the country will battle it for AUD8,000 in cash and prizes.
