Lawson Syphon


From Lake Mulwala the Mulwala Canal flows 160 kilometres west to the Edward River. A remarkable engineering structure known as the "Lawson Syphons" diverts the canal under the river delivering water to the agricultural areas west of Deniliquin. Interpretive panels telling the story of these Syphons have been installed on site. Located approximately five kilometres from town, further information can be obtained from Deniliquin Visitor Information Centre.

Deniliquin Golf Club


Deniliquin Golf Course, on the edge of the Murray Valley Regional Park, yet just a stone's thrown from the shopping centre, boasts one of Australia's most natural and beautiful golf settings.

Deniliquin is one of the most picturesque among the famous courses that stretch along the mighty Murray River and its tributaries. They invite you to enjoy the beauty of their course, just like the kangaroos, kookaburras, Superb Parrots, echidna, goannas, lizards, pelicans and a host of other wildlife that abounds in this paradise of nature.

Sitting right on the forest's edge is Deniliquin Golf and Leisure Resort, which works with the Golf Club to offer 'stay and play' packages.

Peppin Heritage Centre


The Peppin Heritage Art Gallery is situated in George Street, Deniliquin. It was originally the Deniliquin Public School, and renamed the Peppin Heritage Centre in honour of the Peppin family and the influence they had on the founding of the merino sheep Industry.

The Peppin Heritage Centre Art Gallery incorporates the Visitor Information Centre, art exhibition space and museum that is available to the public daily. Entry to exhibitions and the museum is by gold coin donation.

When visiting Deniliquin, please call into the Visitor Information Centre where the tourist officers and wonderful volunteers will be only too willing to provide you with the information that you need.

Situated right next door to The Crossing Cafe, visitors can relax and enjoy river views, surrounding lawns, and great coffee.

Coach tours are most welcome and staff are able to provide a town tour if required.

Edward River


The picturesque Edward River winds its way through Deniliquin and is one of the towns greatest assets and attractions.

Famous for its fishing, particularly for Murray Cod and Yellowbelly, water skiing, houseboat stays and sandy beaches, the Edward River offers a relaxing and peaceful experience for visitors.

Naponda Farmers Market


Naponda Farmers Market is held on the second Saturday morning of the month, adjacent to the Peppin Heritage Centre in the CBD.

Local producers display a wide range of fresh locally produced fruit, vegetables, pastries, breads, meats, preserves and much more.

Why not stop in and enjoy a coffee or breakfast in the morning sun.

This is a popular market organised by the Naponda Auxiliary which raises funds for the Deniliquin Hospital.

Deni Ute Muster


The Deni Ute Muster is an iconic event played out on some of the largest, flattest plains on earth. It is recognised as one of Australia's premier rural events that encapsulates the diversity, tradition and vibrancy of Australia. At the core of the festival is the Guinness World Record breaking Ute muster and Blue Singlet Count which see thousands of people from every capital city, town and corner of the land converge to be a part of this unique event.

The two-day event consists of over 24 hours of live music, Ute Show N Shine competition, Bullride Spectacular (Rodeo), trade and catering stalls, NSW Whip Cracking Championships, Woodchop demonstrations, Helicopter Rides, Circus, Camel Rides, AFL on the big screen, and a family centre to name a few.
