Women of Empire 1914-1919 Exhibition - Classic Costume and Chronicles


The Women of Empire 1914-1919 Exhibition is a unique exhibition that uses original First World War costume to tell the stories of Australian and New Zealand women in the First World War. It is the only exhibition in the world dedicated to the women of the Great War for not all our heroes one hundred years ago wore khaki. Already seen by over 600,000 people in Australia and New Zealand in the past eighteen months a 'curators choice' will be in Queensland for the first time as part of the Way We Wear Vintage Fashion event at Mt Gravatt. There will be around twelve of these unique women in costume on display plus ephemera from the First World War. The full exhibition is scheduled to come to Queensland in 2018.

Griffith Sport (Mt Gravatt) MS Swimathon


The Griffith University Aquatic and Fitness Centre in Mt Gravatt will host the first MS Swimathon event of the season, to raise vital funds to help people living with multiple sclerosis (MS).

It doesn't matter if you can do 100 fast laps or doggy paddle one, everyone can join in, have fun and support people living with MS - an incurable disease which affects a person's central nervous system. Designed as a relay event, teams must have one swimmer in the water at all times throughout the entire 12 hour event period.

Participants can raise donations by asking for a one off donation from friends and family or being sponsored based on the number of laps they can do.

Ramsay Health Care Triathlon Pink / Fun Run Pink - Brisbane


Get ready for the tenth year of the Ramsay Health Care Triathlon Pink and Fun Run Pink being held at the Sleeman Sports Complex in Chandler, Brisbane.

Ramsay Health Care Triathlon Pink is an all-female triathlon series with a fantastic, fun day of personal achievement. The Triathlon Pink goals include challenge, participation and fun as well as raising funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation. Boys and Girls up to 13 years of age can also get involved in the kids events.

Fun Run Pink (held in conjunction with every Triathlon Pink event) is also an option for kids (boys and girls), as well as males and females of all ages.
