Mount Nebo: Where To Go / Sightseeing

Morelia Track, Manorina

On a clear day, the Morelia Track, Manorina offers spectacular views as far as the sparkling white sand hills of Moreton Island. Walk from the picnic area through tall open forest to the summit of Mount Nebo. Patches of rainforest along the way provide a cool contrast to the more open forest and pockets of cabbage tree palm rainforest.

At the end of the walk there are large granite boulders on which to sit and ponder, and perhaps plan your next walk.

Fernvale Murals

The Fernvale Murals were conceived as a community project to help re-establish pride and confidence in the town after the trauma of the 2011 floods. There are three murals located around the Fernvale Memorial Park along the Brisbane Valley Highway. The design of the murals is not intended to show the town exactly as it was, but rather to illustrate the life of the growing community. The buildings seen in the murals are taken from photographs of actual building which stood in Fernvale in the early days, some of which can still be seen in the town today.
