Queensland Air Museum


The Queensland Air Museum, located at Caloundra on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, is Australia's largest Heritage Air Museum.

Established in 1974 and operated entirely by volunteers, boasts a display of more than 65 restored aircraft from many decades including an F-111 C A8-129 and many other aviation related displays.

Their vision is 'Preserving Australia's Aviation Heritage'.

They are open to the public every day (except Christmas Day) from 10am to 4pm and can open by arrangement outside those hours for special functions and events. They operate group tours, are an ideal venue for children's birthday parties and photo shoots, and they are keen to make their fantastic display as available to the public as possible.

They operate three Aero Engine Run Days each year in January, April and September and host an Open Cockpit Weekend in July.

They encourage the involvement of new members and volunteers.

Gatorade Queensland Tri Series - Round 6 Caloundra


Gatorade Queensland Triathon Series is back at the Caloundra Power Boat Club for what is known as the 'series highlight' round! It's a great excuse to head up to the Sunshine Coast and make a weekend out of it. With a beautiful canal swim and finishing in front of the Caloundra Power Boat Club, then continuing on with celebrations afterwards, it's a great way to have fun and exercise with your mates.

Sri Lanka is an island of lavishly spicy cuisines and India is well known for its aromatic spices. One of the most common cuisines served in Sri Lanka and India is steamed or boiled rice, alongside a curry, (whether it's vegetable, pulse, seafood or meat). Condiments such as chutneys and sambols are also included. Main herbs and Spices used: Cinnamon, Pepper, Chillies, Curry Leaves, Turmeric, Cardamom, Nutmeg, Black and White Peppers, Cloves, Ginger, Mustard Seeds, Mace.

Cooking in pairs, five to six beautiful dishes will be created throughout the morning (100 per cent hands on cooking), including making a spice blend, before sitting down to enjoy the fruits of your labour over lunch.

2017 Gymnastics State Club Championship


The 2017 Queensland Club Championships showcases the best club gymnasts from all over QLD and also includes interstate and international teams.

For 6 days gymnastic clubs compete against each other in a number of disciplines which test their strength, flexibility, balance and team spirit culminating in the best team being crowned the State Club Champions.

With over 50 gymnastic clubs and more than 1000 athletes ranging in age from 8 to 30 years the 2017 Gymnastics State Club Championships is an exhilarating event with spectacular skills on show with something for all ages.

Suncoast Spinners Wheelchair Basketball Tournament 2017


The Suncoast Spinners host a world class wheelchair basketball tournament each year in January at the Caloundra Indoor Sports Stadium over three days. The tournament comprises of teams and athletes across three divisions from all states around Australia and overseas. Athletes consist of current and former Australian Paralympian and Australian World championship players. A stunning display of skill and sportsmanship, a must for all to witness.

Meditation encompasses a variety of techniques that can develop mindfulness, tranquillity, and insight. A regular meditation practice will enable you to get your life moving in rich, full and meaningful ways.

Join them for a guided meditation on Friday evenings in Caloundra. These sessions are a great opportunity to meditate with others in a supportive environment and establish a time each week to spend on your own inner development.

Established in 1974, Chenrezig Institute is a centre for Buddhist study, meditation, retreat, and practice nestled in the foothills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Today, the Institute is home to a Tibetan Geshe (Lama), a large community of ordained Sangha (monks and nuns), students, residents, volunteers, retreatants, and guests. Apart from the formal study programmes, Chenrezig Institute is a peaceful, calm and relaxing place to spend a few hours, days or weeks.

Stroll along the bush paths, wander in the formal garden, sip espresso in the caf?, have a vegetarian meal, drop in for a meditation class or teaching, or just sit and listen to life.

Friday evenings 6pm to 7pm above Britannia Garage. No need to book. Entry by donation. All welcome!

Caloundra Road Visitor Information Centre


The Caloundra Road Visitor Information Centre is located on Caloundra Road in Caloundra.

This accredited Visitor Information Centre offers a one stop shop for travel information including maps, brochures, and itineraries. Staffed by skilled and knowledgeable local volunteers, the Caloundra Road Visitor Information Centre can provide advice on the things to see, things to do and where to eat on teh Sunshine Coast and surrounding regions. It also holds brochures for each region in Queensland. The centre offers free Wi-Fi for visitors.

Situated behind the Visitor Information Centre in the car park is Sunshine Coast Council's RV Dump Point. One of only two on the Sunshine Coast.
