Bowenville

Bowenville is situated on the Warrego Highway between Jondaryan and Dalby. It is a quaint rural town that offers a traveller all of the basic requirements including: fuel, a post office, barbecue, a hotel and a public telephone. It is a a lovely place for you to stop and spread you legs after a day of travelling.

Bowenville is a short drive from the historic Woolshed at Jondaryan which offers a great insight into life on the land, shearing sheds of old and traditional skills such as blacksmithing. There's also a very good cafe at the Woolshed.

The Woolshed at Jondaryan is a wonderful place to stay or visit. Located just 40 kilometres west of Toowoomba, the Woolshed offers caravan, camping or cabin accommodation, a modern Cafe Restaurant and the Woolshed Museum. Enjoy a self guided tour through the original buildings and historic shearing shed. They have events throughout the year including an Easter Family Weekend, the Jackie Howe Festival in September and New Year's Eve at the Woolshed.

If you choose to stay at the Woolshed, enjoy easy access to the Bunya Mountains, Dalby, Toowoomba and Oakey. Open daily, admission to the Museum grounds is an additional charge upon check-in. Either stay in a self-contained cabin or the pet friendly caravan park with fantastic facilities including great amenities, dump point, a coin operated laundromat, a bush kitchen with barbecues, open fire pit and refrigeration.

The Woolshed at Jondaryan is a great place to hold an event whether it's a country wedding, a conference or a birthday party! The Woolshed has a range of wedding packages available. Guests dine in the woolshed building itself and enjoy delicious meals prepared on-site.

Queensland Fiery Food Festival


The Queensland Fiery Food Festival is an inaugural event in 2017. Located at The historic Woolshed at Jondaryan the Fiery Food Festival is a weekend of hot and spicy foods filled with entertainment and 16 of Australia premier fiery food producers to spice your life. The region is the perfect place to celebrate fiery foods and how they stimulate your senses. The intention of the festival is to provide a venue where people can learn and experience fiery foods. The festival will be filled with cook offs and competitions including the fiery wing eating contest, best dressed, camp oven cook off, the fiery food cook off along with multiple fully licensed bars and food outlets. Saturday night will be highlighted with a country bonfire and open jam sesh. Bring your own alcohol is not allowed.
