Paskeville is famed as the host town for the Yorke Peninsula Field Days, held biennally in September in odd-numbered years.

This event is the oldest in Australia and one of the biggest, exhibiting millions of dollars worth of farm machinery. Named Community Event of the Year 2006 and inducted into the SA Great Regional Awards Hall of Fame in 2008, the field days also offer fantastic food and entertainment and a chance to mix with the locals.

This small town is 131 kilometres from Adelaide and a reception point for grain deliveries.

Although Paskeville is located in the centre of the peninsula, it is less than an hour from such popular seaside resorts as Port Wakefield, Moonta Bay and Wallaroo.

It is also just a 19km drive west from the peninsula's largest town, Kadina. A product of the copper mining boom in the mid-19th century when thousands of Cornish miners flocked to the pitheads. Kadina co-hosts the biennial Kernewek Lowender, one of the largest Celtic festivals held outside the United Kingdom.

Yorke Peninsula is one of South Australia's most popular holiday destinations. It offers plenty of seaside accommodation, swimming beaches, fishing, walking trails and more.

Victoria Square celebrates the history of the town with the town's war memorial and historic rotunda and incorporates the town's playground. Yorke Peninsula's Home Grown Trail


The Yorke Peninsula Home Grown Trail offers you a behind-the-scenes view as locals welcome you to their farms and businesses. Discover their produce and products and share their working lives. They'll show you what they do and how they do it, getting things grown, harvested, and taken to the world.

Participants, most offering tours by appointment include; Alpacas Chaparral at Minlaton, Barachel Alpacas at Wool Bay, Barley Stacks Wines at Maitland, Ducatoon Park Horse Stud at Kadina, Orrie Cowie Merino Stud at Warooka, Paper Nymph Studio and Top Shop at Warooka, and Port Vincent Primary School Marine Study Centre at Port Vincent.

The Rotary Markets, Kadina


The Rotary Markets are held regularly on the last Saturday of each month 8.30am to 12.30pm in Victoria Square, Kadina - right in the heart of the vibrant town.

You will find a range of goods which may include arts and craft, plants, bric a brac, farmers produce, home baked cakes and biscuits, a sausage sizzle, refreshments, greeting cards, jewellery, oils, body lotions, fresh produce, jams and pickles, pottery and much more.

Members of Copper Country Keepsakes artisans group provide an extensive and exciting range of handcrafted quality art, craft, home decor and country gift items for sale with friendly service in their Gift Gallery. The emphasis is on originality, with high standard of workmanship.

Copper Country Keepsakes supports local charitable organisations and has been operating for 19 years. It is caretaker for The Ascot Community Exhibition Gallery adjacent to the gift shop with a different exhibition each month. Discovering Historic Kadina Town Drive


The Kadina Heritage Drive starts at the old railway station and is a leisurely drive of about 12 kilometres which can be completed in one to two hours. The trail gives visitors a balanced impression of the history and development of Kadina and surrounding settlement. Drop into the Copper Coast Visitor Information Centre for a copy of the drive.

Christmas in Kadina will be held on Monday 18th December with a pageant and carols in Victoria Square and Graves Street. Program: Bed push starts at 5.45pm Pageant starts at 6.15pm
Carols starts at 6.45pm

There will be entertainment for the whole family, plenty of food and refreshments and Father Christmas will be making an appearance in the pageant.

Find your spot along the route as the pageant travels around Victoria Square and down Graves Street.

At the completion of the pageant start to celebrate Christmas with Community Christmas Carols in Victoria Square.

Kadina Annual Show


The Kadina Annual Show is a traditional show - it is family orientated with fun for everyone with both days of the show running from 9am to 4pm.

Proudly one of the longest running shows in the state, exhibitions include arts and crafts, literature, cooking, produce, photography, wood, birds and animals.
