New Town Bay Golf Club


The New Town Bay Golf Club is a nine-hole metropolitan golf course north of Hobart. The Club is located in the riverside suburb of Lutana, a 10-minute drive north of the city (6 km).
Formerly known as the Ez Risdon Golf Club, the New Town Bay Golf Club is a private course, open to members, associates and members of affiliate clubs. Features of the course include a challenging ninth hole - a 119-metre downhill par three with challenging bunkers surrounding the green. The Club hosts a ladies' competition each Thursday and mens' competition on Saturdays, and there is a licensed bar in the clubhouse for members - opening hours are displayed on the noticeboard and on the website (www.newtownbaygc.com). Bookings are recommended.

Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens


The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens are located in Hobart, Tasmania's harbour side capital city.
Established in 1818 on the western banks of the Derwent River, the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens covers 13.5 hectares and showcases 6,500 species and varieties of plants, including over 400 Tasmanian species.

Rosny Park Public Golf Course


Rosny Park Public Golf Course is a nine-hole course situated on Hobart's Eastern Shore, near Eastlands Shopping Centre. Rosny Golf course is a attractive public course which has been the venue of the Australian Public Course Championships. Rosny Farm


Rosny Farm is the cultural centre in the City of Clarence. The site has important historical roots as a fine example of an early walled farmyard containing a beautiful heritage listed sandstone barn and farm cottage.
The historic Barn at the Rosny Farm is a small scale visual and performing arts space which hosts recitals, concerts, exhibitions and workshops.
The Schoolhouse Gallery is the only public gallery on the eastern shore of Hobart and is a venue for exhibitions of contemporary and community art, and historical displays.
The grounds and cottage have displays of the history and development of Rosny Farm.

Runnymede - National Trust House and Gardens


Runnymede is an elegant colonial homestead situated in New Town, just an eight-minute drive north of Hobart CBD (en route to Mona).
It was built around 1836 for Robert Pitcairn, the first lawyer to qualify in the colony and a leading campaigner against the transportation of convicts from Britain.
When Captain Charles Bayley bought the house in 1864, he named it Runnymede after his favourite ship. The Bayley family lived in the house for the next 100 years. Now dedicated to marine conservation, the house as a large collection of whaling and maritime items.
The historic garden features many historic trees and plants.
The house and gardens are accessible by guided tour (bookings advised via our online booking system) and there are also public and private events held at Runnymede throughout the year.
See the new strolling theatre production 'Take Tea with Harriet' from the creators of Louisa's Walk, which is presented at 1500 on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday (bookings essential).

Anzac Day Dawn Service - Lindisfarne


A Dawn Service will be held at the Lindisfarne RSL.
ANZAC was the name given to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps soldiers who landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey early on the morning of 25 April 1915 during the First World War (1914-1918).
As a result, one day in the year has involved the whole of Australia in solemn ceremonies of remembrance, gratitude and national pride for all our men and women who have fought and died in all wars. That day is ANZAC Day - 25 April.
A Dawn Service will be held at the Lindisfarne RSL to remember the ANZACs and other War Veterans who fought for Australia.

Meehan Monster


Held at Clarence MTB Park on 9 October 2016 the Meehan Monster is a 1, 2 or 3 lap mountain bike race. The twist is that each lap is 33km long and has 800m of technical (but achievable) climbing in the stunning Meehan Range in Tasmania. Flowing descents and views that will take your breath away will reward your efforts.
The Meehan Monster aims to take in the best trails in the Meehan range plus a few new ones thrown in for good measure. Race distances will be 33km (1 lap), 66km (2 laps), 99km (3 laps). There will be men's and women's categories in each distance as well as a three lap only, team's category.
Taming the full 99km monster will take guts and determination. There is $5000 in spot prizes and podium prizes to give away.
