Freycinet Marine Farm


The Freycinet Marine Farm Sales Room is located near Coles Bay on Tasmania's east coast.
The sales room is open every day from 0900 until 1700, offering freshly harvested mussels, oysters and local Tasmanian Rock lobster, Abalone, Scallops, Calamari and salmon all from Tasmanians waters. You can sit at one of the picnic tables or enjoy lunch on one of the coastal beaches. Tasmanian wine and beer is also available from the sales room.
The farm is made up of six different growing regions totalling just less than 185 acres and is a mixture of estuarine and fully marine growing areas. The estuarine areas are in the Great Swanport river estuary. The marine zones are offshore from the Freycinet National Park and are open to the Southern Ocean to the south.
Our farm is located on the Freycinet peninsula, on the east coast of Tasmania, we are a two-and-a-half hour drive form Hobart and two hours from Launceston - part of the very popular East Coast Touring Route.

Bicheno Golf Club Incorporated


Bicheno Golf Club Incorporated offers a nine-hole course on Tasmania's sunny East Coast at Bicheno.
The course is set in beautiful surrounds, with native trees lining the course and a coastal beach directly adjacent. Bicheno's golf course is meticulously maintained and offers golfers a challenging round. You may even be fortunate to spot the resident deer and Cape Barren geese. Wildlife and abundant native parrots are a highlight of the course. You can play at the club seven days a week and golf clubs and buggies are available for hire. The comfortable clubhouse is well-equipped for you to enjoy full bar facilities in a friendly atmosphere following your game.
While you are on the East Coast, take advantage of the many attractions including coastal wineries and beautiful national parks. Take a fairy penguin tour during the evening at Diamond Island where you can watch penguins make their way up the beach to nest. Freycinet National Park is a 30-minute drive, where you will find magnificent Wineglass Bay. After your round of golf, book in at a nearby restaurant and enjoy fresh Tasmanian seafood with views over the water.
Bicheno is just over a two-hour drive south-east of Launceston (174 km).

East Coast Natureworld


East Coast Natureworld is set amongst 150 acres of natural parkland and lagoons. The perfect place to experience Tasmania's unique animals, birds, reptiles. Operating for over thirty years, Natureworld offers a more intimate, interactive, and ultimately enjoyable experience with Tasmanian wildlife. Originally a birdlife park, Natureworld has evolved into a nature world, where Tasmanian wildlife, birdlife and flora can be seen and appreciated by all. With 150 acres of forest, lagoon and beach frontage the extensive park grounds allow you to wander around at your own leisure. Wheel chair and pram friendly paths allow all to experience the uniqueness of Tasmania up close. Tasmanian devil feeding times are 1000, 1230 and 1530 daily. There is food and drink served for most of the day in the Gallery Cafe. For the wildlife photography enthusiast there is an extensive display of Tasmanian wildlife photography. The shop has a wide range of souvenirs with a wildlife and Tasmania theme.

Freycinet Golf Course


The Freycinet Golf Course is situated on the Freycinet Peninsula, 6.5 km west of Coles Bay. It is a well wooded course with tight driving holes and several man-made lakes. Added to this, the prevailing sea-breezes can make this course quite a challenge. The course features views of the Swan River and Oyster Bay.
Competition days Wednesday and Saturday. Visitors welcome. Holes: 9, Par: 72, Length: 5880m, ACR:70.

East Coast Heritage Museum


The East Coast Heritage Museum is situated in picturesque Swansea on Tasmania's east coast. Located in the main street of this seaside town the museum incorporates a Visitor Information Centre, War Memorial and the Glamorgan Spring Bay Historical Society Inc. The heritage listed whitewashed building has a commanding view of the Freycinet Peninsula.
The old section of the building was once a school house and teacher's residence, built in 1860 from stone and rubble used in the Waterloo Point Military Station. The renovated building, new gallery and Visitor Information centre opened in December 2011.
The museum's policy is to exhibit and preserve artefacts from the Glamorgan and Spring Bay Municipality for the community, visitors and future generations. The collection of over 5000 items includes an 1880 Historic Fiddleback Blackwood Billiard Table, Thomas Bock's drawings of George and Mary Meredith, Louisa Anne Meredith's books and costumes, honour rolls, war medals, convict relics and much more.
Admission is by gold coin donation.

Douglas-Apsley National Park


Douglas-Apsley National Park is a few kilometres north of Bicheno on Tasmania's east coast.
This beautiful park features dry sclerophyll forest and riverside walking tracks, swimming holes, birdlife and Oyster Bay pines.
Walks include the 20-minute return stroll to the Apsley Waterhole, the three-hour Apsley Gorge circuit and the three-day north-south bushwalk through the park.
Douglas-Apsley National Park is close to the Freycinet Peninsula and the quaint towns along Tasmania's beautiful east coast. While in the area you can also swim, snorkel or try your hand at deep-sea fishing.
Nearby are coastal wineries and renowned Wineglass Bay in nearby Freycinet National Park.
