Keep at Conara - The


The Keep at Conara, south of Launceston, is a dedicated live-in arts workshop and gallery. It provides an immersive creative stay with the available mentorship of a widely experienced artist, J.G. Stewart. Guests can be left to do their own work or can be assisted when needed by the residential artist. The focus is helping you to achieve your creative work.
The public gallery visitors are welcome to explore creative practices and possiblitities. There is an onsite weekend kiosk for the travelling public to enjoy while viewing artworks.
With homemade meals and cosy bedrooms, The Keep has inside and outside workspace for you to make a mess in. Poets and writers are also welcome guests, in order to take advantage of the private, supported, uninterrupted work option.
Conara Junction is classified as a village; it is a quiet rural location situated on the Heritage Highway and cental to access Tasmania's world famous beauty spots, before returning to Conara to creatively interpret your island experiences.

Campbell Town Museum and Visitor Information Centre


The Campbell Town Museum and Visitor Information Centre is at Campbell Town, in Tasmania's Northern Midlands.
It is the halfway point between the north and south, and is an ideal place to meet for a picnic or lunch. The Campbell Town Museum is housed in the town hall, having moved from the court house in September 2014.
The museum contains local history of the Midlands area including a film projector built between 1930/1935, musical instruments, band music, photos and uniforms from the Campbell Town Brass Band which started in 1844. The museum also has a wireless dated approximately 1924, designed and built by Igrame, England.
Campbell Town is on the Heritage Highway between Launceston and Hobart. It is about a 45-minute drive from Launceston (70 km).

Unique Bieniek Fine Arts and Gallery


Unique Bieniek Fine Arts and Gallery is Tasmanian artist Sonja Bieniek's Campbell Town studio.
The Gallery is located in a classic Georgian building in the centre of Campbell Town. It features oil paintings by gallery owner and noted portrait and landscape artist Sonja Bieniek, alongside works by other Tasmanian artists. A wide range of work is represented, including woodcraft, glass, textile art and ceramics.
Austrian-born artist Sonja Bieniek migrated to Australia in 1950 with her family. Her paintings are in demand with both Australian and overseas collectors. In 2002, Sonja was selected from over 500 entries as a finalist in the prestigious Doug Moran National Portrait Prize - the richest portrait prize in the world.
Located in the Tasmanian Midlands, Campbell Town is a one-and-a half-hour drive north of Hobart (134 km) and a one-hour drive south of Launceston (68 km).

Book Cella r- The


The Book Cellar in Campbell Town is a world-class traditional bookshop experience in a fascinating heritage setting, the convict cellars under an 1830's era coaching inn. The architecturally significant cellars once housed the convicts who built the Red Bridge over the Elizabeth River, which runs past The Book Cellar door. Anzac Day Dawn Service - Campbell Town


A Dawn Service will be held at the Campbell Town Cenotaph.
ANZAC was the name given to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps soldiers who landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey early on the morning of 25 April 1915 during the First World War (1914-1918).
As a result, one day in the year has involved the whole of Australia in solemn ceremonies of remembrance, gratitude and national pride for all our men and women who have fought and died in all wars. That day is ANZAC Day - 25 April.
A Dawn Service will be held at the Campbell Town Cenotaph to remember the ANZACs and other War veterans who fought for Australia.
