Poatina Golf Course

Poatina Golf Course is a nine-hole 18 tee course with beautiful mountain views, located in Northern Tasmania. The 18 tees add variety, and the small raised greens make this relatively short course a golfing challenge. The 6th hole (a 389 metre par 4) requires a long accurate drive and long second shot to a small green set atop the sloping fairway. Nestled beneath the Western Tiers mountain range the course provides tranquil views of the mountains and surrounding farmland. Visitors are welcome and barbecue facilities are available. Poatina is approximately a 50-minute drive (59 km) from Launceston.

Guided house tours operate daily at 1115, 1230, 1400 plus extra tours at 1000 and 1530 in summer. Self-guided tours can be taken at any time during the day.
Woolmers walled garden was established by Thomas Archer in the 1840s, and has been restored by the Woolmers Foundation Inc., replanting trees, shrubs, roses and perennials of the period.
At Woolmers is the The Rose Garden. In late spring through to autumn you have the opportunity to walk through history with thousands of roses, representing the historical development of the rose in the southern hemisphere.
