Hepburn's Woodcraft and Private Fishery


Hepburn's Woodcraft and Private Fishery is located at Nunamara in North East Tasmania.
Hepburn's Woodcraft features the work of owner Andrew Hepburn who creates timber products from Tasmanian specialty timbers. Andrew's work can be purchased from his website or on site.
You can also visit the property's private fishery to fly fish for rainbow trout. Enjoy an affordable half-day's fly fishing here; rod hire and fly-fishing tuition are available and no license is required. The fishery has a bag limit of two fish per person and bookings are essential.
Nunamara is close to the Mt Barrow State Reserve. The Reserve covers an area of 459 hectares (113 acres) which includes Mount Barrow (1413 metres), one of the tallest mountains in the north-east highlands. Here you can bushwalk through rainforest and alpine vegetation and enjoy spectacular views and scenery. The Reserve is also a popular location for rock-climbing and hang-gliding.
Nunamara is a 20-minute drive from Launceston (20 km) and a 40-minute drive from Scottsdale (48 km).

Mountain Stream Fishery


Mountain Stream Fishery is located at Targa, Tasmania on the pristine St Patricks River.
The Public fishing area offers a fun family day out. Licences are not required and you are guaranteed to catch a fish. For your convenience barbecues are available to hire and picnic areas are provided. There is no catch and release, all fish caught must be kept! Fish will be cleaned while you wait at no additional cost.
Mountain Stream Fishery is situated on the Tasman Highway between Launceston and Scottsdale. Prices per kilo of fish caught are Trout AUD10.00, and Salmon AUD13.00.

Trees Adventure - Underwood Park


Trees Adventure Underwood Park is one of newest ultimate Treetop experiences in the Tasmania.
It features exciting and challenging courses that become increasingly difficult as you climb higher into the canopy, which means that you can find the right level to suit you between two and 25 metres up. In a two hour session, you will be swinging, leaping, climbing and flying through the Pine Trees of Hollybank Forests.

Hollybank Forest Reserve


Hollybank Forest Reserve is just a 20-minute drive from Launceston.
This is one of Tasmania's most popular picnic areas and has a distinctly European flavour. In autumn, exotic deciduous trees are a colourful contrast to the natives.
A 40-minute walk passes through examples of Tasmania's major production forest types in a demonstration forest. Interpretive signs show how each forest type is harvested and regenerated.
The reserve also contains 20 kilometres of dedicated world-class mountain bike trails descending through the forest with short and long loops suitable for beginner and advanced riders.
For the more adventurous there's a ten kilometre descent called the Juggernaut that will challenge the best of riders.

Ribbon of Blue Community Day


NRM North and Tamar NRM invite you to join us to celebrate Launceston's Ribbon of Blue!
December 2016 will mark 25 years of continuous restoration work along the stretch of the North Esk River between Henry Street and Hoblers Bridge, known as the Ribbon of Blue. Led by the North Esk Landcare Group Inc. and with support from corporate sponsors, service clubs and the City of Launceston, this degraded stretch of river has been transformed into a popular community space.
This event will feature a free Lions Club sausage sizzle and activities for the whole family, including face-painting, kids' treasure hunt, reptile display, interpretive walks on the ecology and history of the area and unveiling of new interpretation signs.

Party In The Paddock


Party In The Paddock is Burns Creek's annual independent music and art's festival.
