Hepburn's Woodcraft and Private Fishery


Hepburn's Woodcraft and Private Fishery is located at Nunamara in North East Tasmania.
Hepburn's Woodcraft features the work of owner Andrew Hepburn who creates timber products from Tasmanian specialty timbers. Andrew's work can be purchased from his website or on site.
You can also visit the property's private fishery to fly fish for rainbow trout. Enjoy an affordable half-day's fly fishing here; rod hire and fly-fishing tuition are available and no license is required. The fishery has a bag limit of two fish per person and bookings are essential.
Nunamara is close to the Mt Barrow State Reserve. The Reserve covers an area of 459 hectares (113 acres) which includes Mount Barrow (1413 metres), one of the tallest mountains in the north-east highlands. Here you can bushwalk through rainforest and alpine vegetation and enjoy spectacular views and scenery. The Reserve is also a popular location for rock-climbing and hang-gliding.
Nunamara is a 20-minute drive from Launceston (20 km) and a 40-minute drive from Scottsdale (48 km).

Mountain Stream Fishery


Mountain Stream Fishery is located at Targa, Tasmania on the pristine St Patricks River.
The Public fishing area offers a fun family day out. Licences are not required and you are guaranteed to catch a fish. For your convenience barbecues are available to hire and picnic areas are provided. There is no catch and release, all fish caught must be kept! Fish will be cleaned while you wait at no additional cost.
Mountain Stream Fishery is situated on the Tasman Highway between Launceston and Scottsdale. Prices per kilo of fish caught are Trout AUD10.00, and Salmon AUD13.00.

Trees Adventure - Underwood Park


Trees Adventure Underwood Park is one of newest ultimate Treetop experiences in the Tasmania.
It features exciting and challenging courses that become increasingly difficult as you climb higher into the canopy, which means that you can find the right level to suit you between two and 25 metres up. In a two hour session, you will be swinging, leaping, climbing and flying through the Pine Trees of Hollybank Forests.
This will suit all the family from four to 75 years and over, with a total of seven courses to choose from and over 70 challenges including ten flying foxes. It is made for the whole family. Bookings are essential.

Hollybank Forest Reserve


Hollybank Forest Reserve is just a 20-minute drive from Launceston.
This is one of Tasmania's most popular picnic areas and has a distinctly European flavour. In autumn, exotic deciduous trees are a colourful contrast to the natives.
A 40-minute walk passes through examples of Tasmania's major production forest types in a demonstration forest. Interpretive signs show how each forest type is harvested and regenerated.
The reserve also contains 20 kilometres of dedicated world-class mountain bike trails descending through the forest with short and long loops suitable for beginner and advanced riders.
For the more adventurous there's a ten kilometre descent called the Juggernaut that will challenge the best of riders.

Located in Relbia just south of Launceston (15-minute drive), on the banks of the North Esk River, this local family owned and operated vineyard is a member of the Tamar Valley Wine Route and producer of many award winning wines.
Established in 1987, Mike and Philippa Sharman's four-hectare (ten acre) Glenbothy Vineyard sits on the banks of the North Esk River.
Wine varieties include Pinot Noir, Cabernet/Merlot, a vintage Sparkling Pinot/Chardonnay, Chardonnay (oaked and unoaked), Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris.
The Cellar Door is open seven days a week, 1000 to 1600 for tastings and purchases. Tasmanian Cheese Platters are now available at the Cellar Door to enjoy with a glass of wine whilst relaxing and taking in the views from our new outdoor area.
Sharmans Wines can also be found at the Harvest Market Launceston in Cimitiere Street every Saturday, 0830 to 1230. Sharman's Wines is part of the Tamar Valley Wine Route.

Thoroughbred Night Racing Under Lights


The Tasmanian Turf Club at the Luxbet Racing Centre is home to Tasmania's most prestigious horse race the Luxbet Launceston Cup and home to Thoroughbred Night Racing under Lights. Experience the excitement of thoroughbred night racing under lights. Our complex offers an exciting, up-close personal entertainment experience like no other. The Tasmanian Turf Club is committed to maintaining a high standard of excellence and making sure you have a night to remember. We also have some day meetings.
The Luxbet Racing Centre is located approximately three kilometres from the heart of Launceston and is easily accessed by bus or taxi. Entry to the course is $7 and $4 for pensioners.
