Tasmazia and The Village of Lower Crackpot


Tasmazia, a maze complex, model village, Pancake Parlour and Gift Shop in Promised Land, north-west Tasmania. Promised Land is situated 15 km south-west of Sheffield and 40 km south-west of Devonport.
Tasmazia has a total of eight mazes. You can lose yourself in the Great Maze (one of the world's largest botanical mazes), the Hampton Court Maze, the Yellow Brick Road Maze, the Hexagonal Maze, the Cage, the Irish maze and the Confusion Maze and test your co-ordination on the Balance Maze.
Explore the Village of Lower Crackpot, a fanciful artwork in the form of a small-scale village. Visit the recently-opened Embassy Gardens, containing sixty buildings dedicated to over 40 countries. You can also indulge yourself in the Pancake Parlour and browse through the Gift Shop for locally made crafts and clothing, many exclusive to Tasmazia as well as quirky games and puzzles.
Tasmazia has been devised and built on a former dairy farm, which was later converted to lavender. The property remains a working lavender farm which you can see in full flower during the month of January. Visit the Gift Shop to choose from the range of Tudor Lane and Lavender House products.

Mole Creek Karst National Park


Mole Creek Karst National Park, in Northern Tasmania, features richly decorated limestone caves.
The Park is 40 minutes west of Deloraine and a short drive from the village of Mole Creek.
Mole Creek Karst National Park protects deep limestone caves of superb stalactites, stalagmites and columns, glow worm displays, subterranean streams and cathedral caverns. The Park is best known for the superb Marakoopa and King Solomons Caves, which are open to the general public, but its 1,345 hectares (3,324 acres) contains a total of 300 caves and sinkholes.
You can view the caves on guided tours which depart several times each day, or join a specialised adventure-caving experience. If you plan to visit both Marakoopa and King Solomons Caves, remember that it will take about 15 minutes to drive between the two. There is an entry fee to explore the caves, and national park entry fees also apply to other areas of the Park.

Claude Road Market


The Claude Road Market is a country market in Sheffield, north west Tasmania. Sheffield is 30 minutes south of Devonport (30 kilometres) and 90 minutes west of Launceston (93 kilometres).
Every three months (March, June, September and Decmber) on the third Saturday of the month, Sheffield's Claude Road Memorial Hall fills with stallholders and treasure hunters for the Claude Road Market. Here you can find fresh organic fruit and vegetables, garden and farm produce and locally made preserves, curry pastes, jams and sauces. The market has a strong emphasis on arts and crafts. Browse the creations of local artists and craftspeople and make your selection from the offerings of jewellery, clothing, leatherwork, hand weaving and ceramics. The Claude Road Market is open from 9am until 2pm.
Sheffield is known internationally for its collection of public murals, which depict the area's rich history. Since 1986, dozens of murals have been painted in the town, ranging from large scale work by professional painters, to murals by local school children. Sheffield attracts over 100,000 visitors each year who come to admire this collection of public art. The town also hosts the annual Mural Fest - a national competition of mural art.

Wilderness Gallery, The


The Wilderness Gallery, at Cradle Mountain, is a purpose-built gallery showcasing environmental photography. The Gallery is located at the Cradle Mountain Hotel, a two-and-a-half-hour drive west of Launceston (144 km) and a 90-minute drive from Devonport (83 km).
The Wilderness Gallery exhibits up to 250 images by some of Australia and the world's best wilderness and nature photographers. Ten linked galleries, built around an enclosed garden of rocks and native plants, display breathtaking images by photographers working in some of the world's wildest and most remote places. Scuba divers, rock climbers, kayakers, bushwalkers and expeditioners have all participated in the Gallery's program of exhibitions.
Photographers whose work has been featured at the Gallery include Rob Blakers, Grant Dixon, Jane Davenport and Richard Bennett. The gallery area also includes two small theatrettes to show film video and computer images.

Devils @ Cradle


The Devils @ Cradle Tasmanian devil sanctuary breeds Tasmania's three unique threatened carnivorous marsupials; the Spotted-tail and Eastern quoll and focuses primarily on the Tasmanian devil.
The facility is located on the edge of the Cradle Mountain National Park World Heritage area and conducts in-situ conservation programs for the Tasmanian devil including an on-site breeding program for insurance of the species.
A visit to the sanctuary day or night will allow you to observe these extraordinary animals up close whilst one of our keepers will give you an understanding of their life cycle and the threats that confront them.
The sanctuary is open from 1000 with 'keeper tours' being conducted on the hour while in the evening visitors can observe the amazing night time antics of the animals being fed.
Devils @ Cradle is committed to the conservation and protection of this now vulnerable species. The centre operates a successful captive breeding program, ensuring the ongoing survival of Tasmanian devils in healthy numbers in the wild.

Triple Top Mountain Run


Tasmania's most gruelling mountain run spanning over Mt Claude, Mt Van Dyke and Mt Roland.
Be a part of this challenging run with breath-taking views and impressive mountain scenery.
While the event is attracting serious runners, fit walkers are also encouraged to enjoy the experience and participate in the event.
The run is approximately 19.7 kilometres, traversing three mountain peaks finishing at Claude Road at the foot of Mount Roland.
A physically demanding event over mountain walking tracks the traverse Mt. Claude, Mt. Van Dyke and Mount Roland, south of Sheffield.
The day is a genuine test of the athlete's fitness.

Cradle Mountain Visitor Information Centre


On the park boundary the visitor centre has an interpretive display, ranger station, park information, walker registration and up-to-date weather reports. Alpine weather changes rapidly always carry waterproof gear, even on summer day walks. There are many superb short walks from the centre and the Dove Lake car park, 14 km further on.
