Cradle Coast Farmers Market


Cradle Coast Farmers Market on the banks of the Leven River in Ulverstone offers fresh produce direct from the producer to you. The surrounding area is some of Tasmania's most fertile farming land producing seasonal fruit and vegetables.
The market has unique produce that is unavailable at other farmers market for example, e.g. buffalo and raw unfiltered honey, avocados, feijoas, fresh pasta [including gluten free], yams and walnuts. We offer some of the more unusual produce as well; giant Bulgarian leeks [almost BIGGER than the farmer] and burdock.
The amazing produce, baked goods and coffee draw some interesting visitors, such as a pet pig, baby orphaned joeys, and dogs the size of a small horse.
Come and experience our market in its stunning waterfront location. Open 8.30am-12.0pm every Sunday

Pedal Buggies Tasmania is located at Ulverstone on Tasmania's beautiful North West Coast. You will enjoy some of Ulverstone's lovely parks as you pedal along the shared pedestrian/cycle path. Hire single, double or family buggies which you can attach extra child seats and baby harness seats (suitable from six months old). Extra trailers can be added enabling more people to pedal on the one buggy. A wheel chair trailer is available to cater for persons with this need. Buggies are suitable for many special needs persons.
Take a Surrey Bike on the 12 kilometre return trip to Turners Beach Berry Patch. Sand buggies on the beach available by appointment.
After your ride take a walk or swim on the beach, have a barbecue beside the children's play ground, splash out on the water slide (summer months), enjoy the park or spoil yourself with a cool drink, ice cream, coffee or meal at Beach Hut Coffee (Cafe). Wow, all this within a 50 metre radius!

Tasmanian Arboretum Inc. - The


The Arboretum is a 66 hectare botanical tree park and nature reserve in Tasmania's North West.
Only a few kilometres from Devonport but a million miles from care, the 66 hectares of landscaped Arboretum and natural bushland was founded in 1984. It offers the opportunity to walk among collections of woody plants from around the temperate world, including many of Tasmania's woody plants.
Set in a peaceful and beautiful valley, you may see some of Tasmania's wildlife, such as swift parrots and platypus.
Cultural and natural heritage combine in the Limestone Heritage Walk, a self-guided walk linking the geology with a century of human activity contributing to colonial and national development. Two hour guided walks are available for a reasonable cost, and can be booked online. Bookings are essential.
The Arboretum offers three picnic shelters, two with coin operated electric barbecues. There are also two general shelters and a platypus observatory and bird hide on the shore of Founders' Lake.
The Tree Park Kiosk offers light refreshments and audio tours. It is operated by volunteers and opens between October and May from 1100 to 1600.
Eugenana is a 15-minute drive (11 km) south of Devonport.

TASTROFEST - Tasmania's Astronomy Festival


Tasmania's premier Astronomy festival is designed to give all ages and levels of interest something to experience. This three day event held annually in August is situated perfectly in Ulverstone to capture a great view of the night sky and potential auroras.
Lectures, workshops on how to use different telescopes, classes in taking aurora photos, special international guests, astrophotography and aurora galleries, space lego models, Hubble images, live feed from ISS, school science shows, night sky viewing and so much more.

Anzac Day Dawn Service - Ulverstone


A Dawn Service will be held at Ulverstone Cenotaph.
ANZAC was the name given to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps soldiers who landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey early on the morning of 25 April 1915 during the First World War (1914-1918).
As a result, one day in the year has involved the whole of Australia in solemn ceremonies of remembrance, gratitude and national pride for all our men and women who have fought and died in all wars. That day is ANZAC Day - 25 April.
A Dawn Service will be held at the Cenotaph to remember the ANZACs and other War Veterans who fought for Australia.

Ulverstone Visitor Information Centre


The Ulverstone Visitor Information Centre is conveniently located in the heart of Ulverstone and provides friendly local visitor services seven days a week.
The centre has visual displays, art and craft display and sales as well as a range of souvenir maps and essential tools to get you moving through Ulverstone and the Central Coast region.
The Centre's interior wall provides display space for local artists to display and sell their work. The gallery wall hosts a new art exhibition each month.
Open daily 0900 - 1700 (1000 - 1600 on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from May-September). Closed Christmas Day, Anzac Day and Good Friday.
