The Museum Highlights tour which runs for 1 hour offers an excellent general introduction to the Museum's galleries. This guided tour will provide you with an insight into the Museum's key themes; land, nation and people, and includes an overview of the Museum's five galleries: Old New Land, Eternity, Journeys, Landmarks and First Australians.

- Photography is permitted in permanent galleries for private purposes only, using hand held equipment. Photography and filming of objects on loan and temporary exhibitions is not allowed. Labels state whether an object is from the National Museum of Australia's collection or elsewhere.
