Overlooking Lake Burley Griffin in the centre of Australia's capital city, Canberra, the National Museum of Australia explores Australian history and culture - Indigenous history, landscape, people, and the journeys that connect Australia with the world. The Museum Highlights tour which runs for 1 hour offers an excellent general introduction to the Museum's galleries. The waterfront cafe which is open from 9.00am for brunch and lunch options, offers commanding views over Lake Burley Griffin. The Museum Experience package offers either brunch or lunch option and the guided 1 hour Highlights tour (pre-bookings are advised to secure preferred time).

- Photography is permitted in permanent galleries for private purposes only, using hand held equipment. Photography and filming of objects on loan and temporary exhibitions is not allowed. Labels state whether an object is from the National Museum of Australia's collection or elsewhere.
