Kyneton Museum

Located just an hour north of Melbourne, the Kyneton Museum collection is housed in a beautiful bluestone building recognised by the National Trust and designed by architect Andrea Stumbucco who was responsible for many beautiful buildings in the Gold Rush era.

The latest exhibition showing at the Kyneton Museum is Trick or Treatment.

Medical Quackery was rife in the Victorian era, with pills and potions to 'cure' anything from baldness to dimples! Trick or Treatment explores the stories behind this era of scammers and theorists through objects from both the Kyneton and Medical History Museum collections.

In an age of limited information, luminaries such as George Augustus Scott were able to make remarkable claims for their inventions. Can an electric hairbrush cure everything from baldness to headaches? Come and see for yourself, and learn more about these extraordinary claims!

The rest of the Museum is open as normal, so come in and enjoy wandering around the gardens and taking in the outside displays.

Keep up to date with cultural events and what is on in Kyneton check out the Facebook page, Macedon Ranges Arts and Culture. You can even win a free family pass when you guess the Mystery Object.
