Furphy Museum

150 years of history are celebrated at the Furphy Museum.

The most distinctive product to carry the Furphy brand is the farm water cart. Conceived as a dedicated implement for water transportation, the Water Cart found a ready market when created in the 1880's.

The museum is also dedicated to the history of Furphy Foundry, beginning when John Furphy started out with a blacksmith and wheelwright business in 1864.

The Museum is housed with the Shepparton Motor Museum - two museums for the price of one.

Shepparton Art Museum (SAM)

Shepparton Art Museum (SAM) has one of Australia's most important collections of historical and contemporary ceramics, along with significant holdings of Australian art in all media.

In 2011 it was redeveloped with the support of Regional Development Victoria. The latest upgrade included the construction of a dedicated street entrance, six new galleries, two new art storerooms, and the installation of LED lighting and climate control. As part of this most recent redevelopment the Shepparton Art Gallery was renamed the Shepparton Art Museum (SAM).

Today SAM focuses on collecting Australian art in all media (including ceramics), with a focus on contemporary and Indigenous Australian art. Recent acquisition highlights include work by Vernon Ah Kee, Patricia Piccinini, David Noonan, Tracey Moffatt, Dale Frank and Fiona Foley.

Choose from a four kilometre walk or a four / eight kilometre run and help us to raise funds for this wonderful organisation.

Event operates from 8:00am to 11:00am.

9am: Warm-up and formalities.

Shepparton's Annual Heritage Weekend

Each year the Heritage Weekend is held at Emerald Bank in Shepparton, this successful showcase of all things heritage and yesteryear attracts thousands of visitors and exhibitors who enjoy the displays, demonstrations and entertainment.

With wood chopping, wood turning and blacksmith demonstrations, a working vintage printing press, pre-1959 trucks, cars and vintage tractors as well as plenty of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.

The Antique Aircraft Fly-In at the Shepparton Airport, featuring antique aircraft, working aircraft, learn to fly information, joy rides and a barbecue.
