Dromkeen Art Gallery and Tea Room

The Dromkeen Art Gallery is a beautiful colonial homestead at Riddells Creek, Victoria. The Gallery houses a unique collection of original children's illustrations, artwork and manuscripts from Australian children's literature, particularly picture books.

The collection includes not only finished illustrations and artwork, but also preliminary artworks such as sketches, storyboards and dummy books revealing the creative processes behind book production.

The Tea Room provides coffee, tea, a selection of delicious cakes, devonshire tea, toasted sandwiches, specialty pies and weekly specials such as soup and pasta. Breakfast is served all day on Saturday.

Bulla Hill Railway

Bulla Hill Railway, operated by Tullamarine Live Steam Society, is located about eight kilometres from Melbourne Airport and offers scenic miniature train rides.

The railway is situated in a parkland area with picnic tables, children's playground and private picnic area with five picnic shelters, two electric barbecues and a kiosk at the station. There is ample free parking right outside the station building. Wheelchair access to the station and picnic area and a disabled toilet is also available to visitors.

Entry to Bulla Hill Railway is free, although to ride the train there is a small admission price. For more information see the website.

Bulla Hill Railway operates from 12-noon to 4:00pm on the first and third Sunday of each month.

Please note that enclosed footwear must be worn if you wish to ride on the trains.

Macedon Regional Park

The Macedon Ranges form the southern end of Victoria's Great Dividing Range and feature a diverse range of natural and cultural features. The 2,379 hectare park protects forested land along the ridge of the range and offers great opportunities for bushwalking, scenic drives and picnics.

Mount Macedon is one of the highest peaks in the range and you can enjoy magnificent views from the Mount Macedon Memorial Cross and the Camels Hump viewing platforms.

Husqvarna Motorcycles Wildwood Rock Extreme Enduro

The Husqvarna Motorcycles Wildwood Rock Extreme Enduro showcases Australia's best off road motorcycle riders. The one day event starts off with riders pushing themselves against the clock for the best starting position for the main event.

Once the main event starts the top 100 riders will battle for three hours on the hardest course Australia has to offer. Spectators get a chance to get up and close to the action all day with riders aiming to takeout their class or the outright win for the PRO class, as well as earn themselves a finishing medal for the day.

With many displays from the event sponsors you can experience the best part of off-road motorcycling and it is only 15 minutes from the Melbourne Airport.

Once at the event spectators have the option to take a shuttle bus from the man made prologue course to the heart of the natural terrain filled with rocks that the riders will endure throughout the three hours.

Buddhist Spring Festival and Ceremony for World Peace

The Peaceful Land of Joy Meditation Centre features a magnificent traditional temple with 10 acres of beautiful gardens renowned for their peace and serenity.

The festival offers: Daily Buddhist philosophy talks with guided meditation, ceremony for World Peace 12 noon Saturday - keynote speaker is Smiling Mind co-founder and author of Mindfulness Made Easy, James Tutton, tours of the Tibetan temple and beautiful gardens, a market, enjoyment shop and fundraising bookstall, as well as children's and adults' meditation sessions each day.

Facility charge for talks is $10 for one, $15 for two and $20 for three or four talks a day. Temple tours are $5. Photo exhibition and garden tours are free. All proceeds support the temple and gardens.
