Heritage Festival: Telling the Story of The Old Laverton School Honour Board

The Old Laverton School Honour Board was unveiled in 1922 and bears the names of 26 men who enlisted during WWI. All had a connection to Laverton and some had been scholars of the Laverton State School. Through funding from the the Anzac Centenary Community Grants Program, the stories of these men and their families has been researched and will be presented to the community.

Join us at The Old Laverton School for an open afternoon as we share this memorial and discover some of the unique stories behind the names on the board that have been uncovered.

The National Trust Heritage Festival runs each year in April and May and is a celebration of our shared heritage. Any organisation with an interest in history and heritage can participate. There are hundreds of events happening across the state with the theme of Discovery and Rediscoveries in 2016. To find out more head to the website.
