Burrowa-Pine Mountain National Park

The two mountains in this park provide excellent and diverse adventures for bushwalkers, campers, climbers, four-wheel drive enthusiasts, birdwatchers and nature lovers.

Pine Mountain, one of Australia's largest monoliths, has a drier climate that supports many rare plants. Mount Burrowa, an area of higher rainfall, supports wet forest plants and is more heavily timbered.

Choose one of the many walks ranging from an easy stroll to a three or four day trek which should challenge the serious hiker.

Mount Lawson State Park

Mount Lawson State Park is known for its steep slopes, cliffs and prominent rocky bluff which impart a natural rugged beauty. The park contains a range of largely undisturbed natural environments. There are panoramic views of surrounding mountains and valleys from the summit of Mount Lawson and spectacular displays of wildflowers in spring.

Enjoy horse riding, scenic drives, a spot of fishing or a bushwalk. Visit the historic trestle bridge off Firebrace Track which was once part of the Cudgewa Railway line.

Corryong Campdraft

The annual Corryong Campdraft is being at the Corryong Recreation Reserve.

With the event incorporating the Brian Scammell Memorial Encouragement draft, Maiden Draft, Ladies Draft, Open Draft for both Novice and Opens, Mick Wheeler Memorial Novice Draft, Col Sheather Memorial Junior Draft, Chum Wheeler Memorial Juvenile Draft and the Smoky Dawson Open Draft, there are plenty of events for all to enjoy.

The Corryong Campdraft is affiliated with the Southern Campdraft Association and is run under the SCA rules.

60 per cent payment on events. $10 cattle levy included in each entry fee.

Camping is available in the Recreation Reserve over the weekend. Office and bar open at 3:30pm on Friday with meals available from 7:00pm. Gold coin donation appreciated for meals.

A kiosk and bar will be open all weekend.

Corryong Historic Machinery Club Rally

Come along to the ninth annual Corryong Historic Machinery Club Rally. Held at the Corryong Recreation Reserve, head along to view continual working displays, a tractor pull, vintage and classic tractors, cars, trucks and motorcycles, stationary engines, farming and household memorabilia, tools and craft stalls amongst a range of other historic machinery displays.

Discuss the workings behind a range of vintage engines with other like minded enthusiasts.

Scenic helicopter rides available throughout the day.

Exhibitor displays are free. Please contact the club to reserve a space.

Garden Getabout

The Garden Getabout is held on the second weekend in November each year. Run over two days, the weekend offers visitors the chance to view some beautiful open gardens in Corryong and the wider Upper Murray region.

Gardens are not professionally designed, rather tended to and cared for by people who love their gardens and take pride in what they have created in their front and back yards. Some gardens come small, medium or large, however all gardens have something different on offer for visitors to see, whether it be a rare plant, a design feature, a problem solved, or simple a surprise!

Garden owners are on hand during the day to answer any questions visitors have or just have a chat about their passion for gardening.

A weekend pass can be purchased from the Corryong Neighbourhood Centre and will allow you access to all gardens on display.

Upper Murray Challenge

The Upper Murray Challenge has been postponed for 2015. The event will be held in October 2016. Keep checking the website for details.

The Upper Murray Challenge is a one day, multi sport event that is nestled in the foothills of Mount Kosicuszko and traverses through the beautiful towns of the Upper Murray region.

Section one is the Snowy Mountains Climbing School Ride. This section incorporates a 38 kilometres mountain bike ride travelling through hilly forest trails, along four wheel drive tracks and open paddocks in and around the township of Khancoban.

Section two is the Meek Kayaks Paddle. An 11 kilometre paddle down the quick-flowing Swampy Plains River to meet the Murray River. This section incorporate tricky, fast-flowing water and at times, high standing waves.

Section three is the Run. Competitors follow a gently undulating trail for seven kilometres, before hitting a steep climb and gaining 500 metres to the Summit of Mount Elliot. From here, runners follow the four wheel drive track before descending into Thougla Valley before finishing off in Corryong.

There are some exciting prizes on offer for those who participate with presentations to be held at 6.00pm.
