Winton Motor Raceway
Each year, Winton hosts a diverse array of weekend motorsport events, which attract competitors from all over the country. Major events include a round of the V8 Supercars Championship, the Valvoline Winton 300 endurance race, Historic Festival of Speed, Performance Car Mania, Shannons Nationals, Australian Super Truck Championship, Victorian Motor Racing Championships and HQ Holden 4 Hour.
During the week, Winton is a valuable facility for testing, development and driver training. Its wide variety of technical corners makes it an ideal proving ground for car and tyre manufacturers, while it is also extensively used as a test circuit by racing teams, including all Victorian V8 Supercars operations.
Winton also offers weekly Test and Tune days for club-level motorsport enthusiasts to drive their race or road cars on the track, and Fun Days and V8 Race Experience packages to introduce people to the thrill of driving around a race track.
As a venue that attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors into Victoria's north east region each year, Winton is a cornerstone of the local economy, generating valuable income for the community.
Winton is also one of the few circuits that provide on-site camping facilities; these are especially popular amongst spectators at major events.
With its open-plan layout and ease of access, Winton provides unobscured views of almost every corner on the racetrack from most spectator vantage points, making it paradise for motorsport enthusiasts.
The short straights and tight corners ensure close racing and numerous overtaking opportunities, which have resulted in Winton Motor Raceway being described as the nation's action track, where you see all the action, all the time.
