Mansfield is 185 kilometres north-east of Melbourne or about two hours from Melbourne, via the scenic Melba, Goulburn Valley and Maroondah highways.

Mansfield Armchair Cinema

The Mansfield Armchair Cinemas are a unique community movie theatre, built by the community for the community and opened in 2009. Mansfield Armchair Cinema screen the latest blockbuster movies and their 3D movies use the latest technology.

Mansfield Armchair Cinema provides local students the opportunity gain skills and experience through school based apprenticeships. The students are trained to operate the technical side of the cinema, as well as hospitality and the business management skills.

You are encouraged to sit back in the reclining leather armchairs or on a huge beanbag and relax while enjoying a glass of wine, coffee or many of the candy bar items.

The cinema is available for private and group bookings or work conferences seven days a week. Public screenings from Tuesday to Sunday.

Mansfield Historical Society is located at the Mansfield Railway Station at the start of Mansfield town.

The Mansfield Historical Society preserves and promotes the history of the Mansfield region. Its archives contain a wealth of information about the history of Mansfield and the surrounding district including genealogical information, microfiche documents, photos, memorabilia, maps and an extensive clothing collection. The Society has many books and photographs of the local area that are available for purchase.

The Mansfield Historical Society is have made digital copies of their hundreds of photographs, cataloguing print material and clothing collections.

With their modernised computer system it has enables Mansfield Historical Society researchers to instantly find any name or event mentioned in the Mansfield Courier prior to 1960. Mansfield Farmers' Market

The Mansfield Farmers Market is a fresh and artisan produce market held year-round in the median strip opposite the Post Office - right in the centre of Mansfield - on the fourth Saturday of the month.

Over 30 colourful marquees set up on the grassy median strip right in the middle of town, showcasing the best fresh and artisan produce from the region, such as cheese, sour dough bread, olive oil, free-range meats and eggs and fresh produce.

Operated by Walker Events, the farmers' market was awarded the Victorian Tourism Award for Food Tourism in 2013.

With visitors able to interact with the people who have grown or made the food, the market promotes a greater awareness of food provenance and food miles.

The Mansfield Farmers' Market is a great way to buy fresh food as well as catch up with friends.

The Mansfield Lantern Festival is a family friendly community festival held on or around the longest night of the year, the Winter Solstice - celebrating winter, community, family and fun.
