The small Murray River town of Wahgunyah is located just over the bridge from Corowa. The area is well known for having some of the states oldest and newest wineries including All Saints, Cofields and Valhalla. It is also home to the Uncle Toby's food processing factory.

Enjoy its many water sports on the Murray River including rowing, canoeing, fishing, water skiing and boating. Explore the walking trails and picnic spots in town and at Lake Moodemere. Alternatively cycle the Rail Trail Ride to Rutherglen or the Bridge to Bridge track.

No matter the season, there is always something to do along the Corowa Foreshore!

The Corowa Lagoon is the perfect place to launch your boat, take a dip in the Murray River, enjoy a family picnic on the lawn or the picnic tables provided, or try your luck with the catch of the day.

Rowers Park also has a quiet launching facility just for your for canoes and kayaks and a lush lawn area perfect for a long lunch with the free to use barbecues. Right next door, the Rivalea fishing platform is a great spot to sit back and try your hand at catching the elusive Murray Cod or Golden Perch.

For some sporting action, John Foord Oval backs on to Rowers park and during Winter the Corowa - Rutherglen Kangaroos can be found during the season.

Federation Story Self Guided Walking Tour


Corowa Shire is steeped in history, playing a significant role in the 1901 Federation of Australia. The self-guided walking tour around the historic buildings within Corowa tells the story of the Birthplace of Federation; including where the original conference was held to put into place the proposal that started the wheels in motion to declare Australia a Federation.

A self-guided historical map is available from the Corowa Visitor Information Centre and gives you the history of the beautiful old buildings in the town and their significance to The Federation Story, with a detailed map pointing out the historic buildings and sites.

Corowa Aquatic Centre


With plenty of grass and shade as well as picnic facilities the Corowa Aquatic Centre is the ideal place to cool off with the family on a hot day.

They have D N Aquatics on board conducting swimming lessons / classes during the season.

Features include that it is set amidst the picturesque sporting hub and tree lined facility, a six lane 50 metre pool, learn to swim (middle sized pool), toddlers pool, kiosk, change rooms with hot showers and lockers.

Corowa Apex Miniature Steam Train


The Apex Miniature Steam Train runs around Bangerang Park Corowa on the first Sunday of the month, weather permitting.
The train rides coincide with the Corowa Rotary Farmers and Community Market and all proceeds go back into maintaining the train and tracks.
The train has run for many years and many parents are bringing their children to Corowa to relive the fun they enjoyed as children on the miniature train.

GPA Swim-In and Ex-Military Vehicle Gathering


The GPA Swim-In and Ex-Military Vehicle Gathering is an annual gathering of people who collect ex-military vehicles from all parts of Australia and overseas to the town of Corowa, on the Murray River. Most bring a vehicle to display while others are spectators.

Every year sees a new theme, with next event being the Year of the Chrysler and Year of the Tank, in honour of the 37th consecutive event - Corowa has come a long way since the first ad-hoc swim-in of amphibious vehicles in 1980!

Corowa 2016 will once again see collectors, restorers and enthusiasts from around the globe, enjoying the 37th consecutive annual Swim-In, in which they expect the largest number of ex-military vehicles ever seen together in one place in the southern hemisphere! A parade and swap meet will be held on Saturday 19 March 2016.

Corowa New Year Fireworks


To welcome the arrival of 2018, the Rotary New Year's Eve Fireworks will fill the skies twice during the evening at John Foord Oval.

The first Junior Show at 9:30pm will entertain families and others looking for an early celebration, while the second show officially marks the start of the New Year at midnight.

A safety exclusion zone covering the fenced area around the fireworks will be in place during the course of the display. Please note that people or animals are not permitted in this area for safety reasons from 6am New Years Eve 2016 to 8am New Years Day 2018.

Corowa Easter Lawn Tennis Tournament


The Corowa Easter Lawn Tennis Tournament is a tennis tournament with Singles, Doubles and Mixed Events over four days. Categories include juniors to seniors, open, A, B and C grades and age events.

There is a canteen running all days selling cold drinks, tea and coffee, afternoon tea and a barbecue. There is strictly no bring your own (BYO) alcohol to this event.

Come along and watch the tennis with free viewing for people not playing in the tournament.

McDonalds Corowa Australian Billy Cart Championships


On Easter Saturday every year, the town of Corowa in southern New South Wales comes alive as the centre of racing action, festival celebrations and family entertainment.

The McDonalds Corowa Billy Cart Championships is an all ages event with six different race categories to give every competitor a fighting chance. Competitors race down the Corowa main street in their home-made or professionally created designs.
